which should i chose (and will i be able to play all the newset games and on what settings low medium or high) : processor AMD Athlon II X3 435 Memory 2 X 2GB DDRII 800 graphics card Radeon HD 4650 1GB GDDR3 128 bit hard drive 500GB or processor Intel Dual Core E6700, 3.2 GHz Memory 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz graphics card GF 9800GT 1GB GDDR5 hard drive 500 GB and please no suggestions
Ok, so if ATI doesn't use physX, and games will mostly come out with physX, and a lot of people use ATI, where is the part where those people make money?
@EvilSwordProductions 1, the GTX 480 witch i now have because i sold my 295 is way better then any ATI card.....2 I dont know, they could make ice cream for kids i don't care!!!!
it's a FPS, of course you kill people, and not everything is destructible, say that you're a sniper going to a high area, you don't want enemies to follow you, so you grenade the stairs
Im thinking of getting a system. Don't know if its good or not. XPS 630 Intel Core 2 Q8200 (4MB,2.33GHz,1333FSB) Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP1,64bit 8GB Duel Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz(4DIMM) nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 512MB Hard Drive 750GB-7200RPM,SATA 3.0Gb/s,16MB Cache Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio AGEIA PhysX physics accelerator Mmm yea Sorry I dont know much about systems I already bought it for $1650 CAN Just wanna know if it's gonna play future games. Got Moneys worth?
Yes 666Pinhead666 your correct thanks for mentioning.....but that's probably because the GeForce 8800 and 9800 are exactly the same architecture so it doesn't surprise me
all the nivida geforce cards 9500 and above show support for PhisX, just bought this same card today from Frys and it says support on the box with downloaded drivers. The chip that company makes was to be integrated in to graphics cards, the PhisX card wasn't selling well on it's own
and "supports it easily" what does it support? physx? because most nvida cards can support it but the 8600 has a slow read speed so its actually pretty slow compared to a 8800gt
i might get this card for christmas. I can't wait cuz i here that its the best card for the money and it'll upgrade me from my v3400. and right before i got that card i had a 9700pro.
4830's in crossfire coming in 2 weeks. Then I will OBILTERATE whatever FPS a 9800 GT will attain. In all honesty though, I like Nvidia. If I were able to find a decent SLI AMD board, I would have went with SLI 9800 GTX instead.
well if u look at the chipset they are basicly the same becuse the 9600gt is basicly the same card so 9800 isnt going to be a significant increase but it will run alot better and yes more ram is almost always good ram
yeah, and you'll be changing them every two months, if not sooner! do me a favor, and when it breaks, get a 600-watt supply. you'll save money that way, because a 600-watt supply won't cost nearly as much as the number of 300-watt supplies it replaces in its lifetime.
i've gone through a few psu's myself, and my dad keeps using underpowered ones and they die prematurely. right now i have a 600w thermaltake, and my graphics card (radeon x1950 pro) takes 33 amps peak (not watts!) on the 12-volt rail. if you do the math:

so yeah, with that 8800, don't get any less than a 600w.
you're using the physx drivers huh. i don't know if i should install them. i might ust play this without them. the physics don't look that great anyways.
the card is about 9 inches long and takes up two slots (well mine anyway). it has an aditional 6 pin power supply connector with it that needs to be connected and also comes with a two pin SPDIF cable for the HDMI video. It does come with a DVI to Analog converter aswell. Download the nvidia latest drivers and physx drivers (i think 8.0.somthing) and you should be set
when i tried it out on the stress test on counter strike it averaged 167.54 frames ad peaked over 300.
and again lol... Heat is a killer since its normal running temp is 105 oC Get some air flow and youll be allright. If the fps starts to degrade after about 5 hrs, 2 points, 1: you shouldnt of be playing that long LOL 2: your GPU is really warm and its downclocking SO LET IT COOL!
the 9800 has separate cores too, even though the 8800 and 9800 have 112 stream processing cores, the architechture is different in that there are two sets of physical GPU cores on the chip (i think)
i can run crysis on high actually, there are some seams where it starts to struggle but generally it sustains about 40 fps WITHOUT anti-aliasing. it is worth it
I just chose a HIS ati Radeon 5670 hd with 1gb of GDDR5 vram over geforce 9800 gt with 512mb of ram
did I make a good choice?

lemonlaw95 3 years ago
So I change it when its broken.
o0tomma0o 3 years ago
yeah, and you'll be changing them every two months, if not sooner! do me a favor, and when it breaks, get a 600-watt supply. you'll save money that way, because a 600-watt supply won't cost nearly as much as the number of 300-watt supplies it replaces in its lifetime.
lemonlaw95 3 years ago
Yeah if it breaks I wil get like 600W or 550W :)
Thnx for advice :)
o0tomma0o 3 years ago
np!
i've gone through a few psu's myself, and my dad keeps using underpowered ones and they die prematurely. right now i have a 600w thermaltake, and my graphics card (radeon x1950 pro) takes 33 amps peak (not watts!) on the 12-volt rail. if you do the math:
watts = amps x volts
33 amps x 12 volts = 396 watts
that leaves about 200 watts left.
so yeah, with that 8800, don't get any less than a 600w.
