  • I think I'd get along with him pretty well haha.

  • wow he did a great job at making something out of some shit questions...

watched gogol bordello at blues fest in australia. BEST LIVE BAND EVER!

  • Brill'

  • Boring journalist

  • One cool guy...

  • anarchy is order without power.

    only sheep need a shepherd.

Anarchism is therefore the teacher of the unity of life; not merely in nature, but in man.

  • very intelligent and gorgeous! :)

  • Eugene Hutz is a smart man

  • so anarchopedia would be the AUTHORITY of things of anarchy... thats ironic haha

  • You dumb fucks think up way too much shit to argue about.

  • AGREED.

  • hutz is one smart ass mother fucker

  • You are the most gorgeous man I have ever seen.. I get all dreamy listening to you speak.

    Love,

    Daydreamer

  • i hate nationalistic assholes.

  • he's awesome. gogol bordello is great. i recently watched the movie 'everything is illuminated' that he co-stars in, and it was very good....

  • HE WAS HILARIOUS IN ITT!!!

  • He was the reason why it was good. lol

  • I dont think he´s trying to bring the idea of any political idealism,

he´s trying to say that music is the only way to remind us that all the people in the world,

we have our diference beetween contries,

and he´s somehow trying to interlace diferent kinds of cultures with music.

I like his work ´cause of that.

  • Internationalism forever!

  • Doesn't he say "Think local, fuck global"? so isn't that pretty much "not internationalism forever"?

  • you misunderstood. I'm talking about international values, not globalism, or imperialism. I mean that there are no nations.

  • Eugene Hutz is actually a (non-imperialist) internationalist -- he's an anarchist. [:

  • How does internationalist mean anarchist? Two separate things. Anarchy is no government, internationalism is the idea that there is no other community than the world-community (and what comes with that is a very functional society). In anarchy there is no society. I think we both agree that this dude is a dude we'd chill with.

  • Anarchism is opposition to social hierarchy, it's a way to organize oneself horizontally without exploitation. It has nothing to do with being against society.

The majority of anarchists are internationalists.

  • I thought Anarchy was absolutely NO government?...and with no government is no society. Society implies government because it's the organization of a community under the form of rituals, traditions, and laws...the regulation of these things is where government plays its part. And I believe in what Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Alex Hamilton..and many more of those guys exclaimed.."As little government as possible!" But not its complete absence--Anarchy...I just don't see how that could work.

  • Wrong, a society is an extended social group having a distinctive cultural organization, it has NOTHING to do with government.

Look up libertarian socialism, anarchism and internationalism. You're view of anarchy is based off of those annoying teens who go "o ye anarchy!1!1 so cool!! fuck shit up man!!".

It's a SERIOUS form of organization that has worked in the past via anarcho syndicalism.

  • My view of anarchism isn't as juvenile as you believe, just not informed. You've piqued my interest for the time being, can you recommend a book?

  • The Anarchist FAQ, which could be found at Infoshop or in an actual book form is good for beginners (it covers things such as the different types of anarchism, the state, capitalism, etc).

Classic anarchist thinkers include Emma Goldman (social anarcha feminist) and Peter Kropotkin (anarcho communist).

I suggest you check out the Anarchopedia website as well, there's lots of cool articles there.

  • "The Dispossesed" by Ursula K. Le Guin. I' m in the process of reading it; one of the only impartial analyses of an anarchist society and a capitalist society in fiction.

  • Genuis. Brilliant music. Good people.

  • he is a good atrist ...can be a teacher xD

  • I have a picture with him and with rest of the band too.

    Taken in Ariano Irpino, Italy.

  • "Because we know our own culture, but our idea of cultures is that you have to be able to understand another culture, otherwise you're just a nationalistic asshole."

    Americans, listen up!

  • yeah I feel like the only american that understands that lol

  • I understand the idea, and agree. However, I think that saying something like that and then naming a specific nation is a *tiny* bit hypocritical.

  • Not at all. There is no american culture. American society is based of a lack thereof.

    Love,

    An American

  • Sounds to me like you're focusing on a particular subgroup. Every country has the type of people you speak of, just like all of them have sailing enthusiasts, business owners, schizophrenics...assuming that all Americans are how you say they are, falling into one claustrophobic categorization isn't just insulting, it's stupid.

    Love,

    Another American

  • I can understand how you would think that.

I was focusing on the status quo that is fed to us by the corporate media.

  • In that case, my apologies, I did misinterpret what you said.

Damn text's lack of inflection. :\

  • I should have been more clear. But I mean, I am a member of a sub culture, I am a punk, so in that sense I am rich with culture. But also, BECAUSE my family came to america, they without knowing, traded life for lack of culture I feel. 3 generations in, and I do not speak yiddish or hebrew, I have not had a bar mitzvah, etc..

  • Please shut the fuck up and stop generalizing America. We are 300 million people of many walks of life and ideologies.

  • sorry, i didn't mean to be human or anything.

  • lol

  • Instead of judging America, why don't you focus on your own country instead.

  • Eugene have a nice time here in Greece when you come in June. I hope I get the chance to see you and the band live.

  • he's so beautiful!! my friend touched him today!!!! i love him.

  • he is a SPIRIT/HUMAN being just like ALL of us! Love this man.lol. Have a great day everybody.

  • brilliant

  • should have known lol

  • great man. great music.

  • do you even know what a gypsy is? im ukrainian, so is he. I SPEAK HIS LANGUAGE. i would know. this dude is amazing. your the idiot

  • who cares hes hoooot

  • He never claimed to be pure gypsy. He's only 1/4 gypsy, and didnt find out until he was 14 at which point he reconnected with those roots and visited his grandmothers gypsy village or whatever. He says in this interview that the only reason he brings up the gypsy-ness all the time is to bring more awareness of its culture to the world. He even says that he draws influence from folk music of many other cultures as well.He aint a poser, he's just tryin to make meaningful and new music for young people

  • very nice... good to know a little bit more about this amazing band.

  • I love him too bits, & will have the privilege of seeing G.B. in Wolverhampton on 11th Dec. Wanted to see 'em for ages. Plenty of stamina and water(no beer, i'm driving from N. Wales) will be needed.

  • "biggest world music festival in Portugal" = "maior festival de 'world music' de Portugal" - agora já faz + sentido, não?

  • 16 hours left until gogol bordello takes stage WOOOO HOOOO
