  • Why put the title in English if it's in Cantonese?

  • @The505Guys cantonese? i'm speaking taiwanese in my video, not cantonese. the title is in english because it's an old video, no specific reason.

  • @ahbying Sorry, I wasn't aware after Nationalist forces fled to Taiwan they adopted a new language other than those of mainland China.

  • @The505Guys taiwanese have been in taiwan long before the KMT fled here. taiwanese speak dozens of aboriginal languages, taiwanese, hakka, and mandarin. KMT are not taiwanese, they're chinese, hence the name chinese KMT. taiwan is separate and independent from china.

  • @ahbying Wow I never knew that! You speak English really well by the way! I'm reading up on Taiwan right now, granted it's from Wikipedia but oh well, apparently a massive 86% of Taiwanese nationals are Han Chinese ethnically, yet only 12% are known as 'Wàishěng rén'.

This is all really interesting....I think...I think I'd like to visit Taiwan some day! I still have a lot to learn it seems.

  • @The505Guys i grew up in the states, that's why. taiwanese now are made up of, aboriginals, hoklo, hakka, and waisheng ren. although, waisheng ren isn't really as much of an issue anymore, as many of their children are 100 percent taiwanese and have no connection with china. a lot of the wikipedia articles on taiwan are written by the KMT, so they're full of biased chinese history. be careful.

  • @The505Guys i look at it like this, most americans aren't from america, but they are recognized fully as americans by the rest of the world. it should be the same for taiwan. i mean, we may speak some mandarin, but we're still taiwanese. kind of like how americans speak english, but are still american. make sense?

  • @ahbying Yeah I understand, thanks, and I hope I do. :)

  • @The505Guys taiwan is a great place...you should definitely visit if you ever get the chance.

  • @The505Guys my bad, i mean, i was born in the states.

  • Anyone can take your picture as long as there is no "expectation of privacy". In public areas there is no E of P. In your house there is E of P. No peeking in windows or doors and taking pics.....LOL

  • hehe "北七" ~~

poor cop :P he only took a few pix of u, and u were filming him all the way.

Everyone knows him now lol ~

  • what the fuck??? take pictures of people without permission.... isn't there a privacy law in Taiwan???? they have not right in taking pictures of u without ur premission, if i was u... i would literally break his camera...

  • Lol. "I just love Ma Ying Jeou".

  • Also known as Fukien in the Fujian and Hokkien in Singapore
