  • If you have a subbie, hook it up.

  • So that's what a Kamehameha looks like in real life.

  • Stargate?

  • Wow where can I get one of these? you can create an enormous magnetical field with an engine like that, the powere is in the diamonds which is your exhaust. Think turbo+neodinium, but most of all , think logic.

  • 0:00-0:06:BOOOOORRRIIIII...

    0:06-0:17:HHHNNNNGGGGHHH O_O

seriously, my headphones were vibrating so hard, I'm pretty sure at some point they lost contact with my ears entirely

  • Can ya make one to help me blow my driveway clean of debris. Leaves on my driveway really gets under my skin.

  • What is this engine meant to propel? Love the lil puff of cryo-breath at the end :)

  • EARGASME :P :P :P

  • wunderschön!

  • baller

  • I like the part wher -- WHOOOOOOSH

  • The money for this rocket would be better spent making sure some fat liberal doesn't get diabeetus. Heathcare NOW to save our economy? lol

  • @eviscero DERP!

  • got a light?

  • i have a methane rocket engine on my backyard :)

  • Here comes the space age, here comes freedom. The ocean has no gov't, space has no gov't. The Final Frontier will be the Free Frontier.

Kids used to dream about going into space, now it is possible and likely that todays children will experience zero-G and the vastness of space.

  • damn, a hell lot of power and a low deep rumble, would not like to be directly behind it when it starts

  • oh jiz...jiz everywhere...

  • dude that's what i feel like after i take a monster bong hit

  • 2 people took that up the ass

  • Pardon me :O

  • If youtube had a loop button I would make use of it right now!!

  • 10 second burn where is the ten minute burn

  • that was impressive i had to watch that twice it was soo good =D

  • Methane is a really smooth-burning propellant, I can tell by the sound and exhaust. I think it would be a really good propellant to launch humans, because it is so smooth. As for lifting quality, nothing is better than a bunch of solids strapped to a hydrox stage.

  • @chaosopher23 Could methand be as good a propellent in a nerva rock as hydrogen?

  • methane

  • @Puzzoozoo nerva? Methane is a great propellant. It's not the most powerful, but it's a lot easier to handle than hydrogen. Methane won't leak through tank walls like hydrogen.

  • @chaosopher23 Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application. Would methane work with a nerva engine?

  • youll be surprised to know that its maximum speed is quite low, infact its a midrange speed engine.... it simply looks good... if you wanna see a fast jet.. look up Gravitoelectromagnetic toroidal launchers or Bussard ramjets..... apart from warp drives, as fast as they get

  • I just ordered 2 of these for mah tricycle.

  • How can a make a miniature?

  • Haha did anyone else see the wheels on that thing? Imagine the acceleration you'd get if the rocket station wasn't strapped to the ground. It'd be all the way to the Middle-East by the end of the video.

  • best rocket ever :) !!!

  • Whats the thrust of this baby!?

  • That SOB gets with the program!

  • Looks like 6 shock diamonds at least.

  • Very Awesome. :]

  • this flame totally turns me on. i want this at home. honestly. awesome!!!

  • who farted now?

  • is this a fucking joke? bombard me with input please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't know how practical this thing is yet but it would be awesome if the Orion spacecraft's main engine was like that.

  • It uses less fuel than a normal rocket engine, while producing more thrust.

  • @A86 NASA originally wanted to use this type of engine on the Orion project, but they reverted to hypergolic propellant due to the infancy of methane engines.

  • HHO rockets

  • that may start a military corperation.

if so, it may be Neucom from Ace Combat 3 and 10 lol

  • No Not Fake, This Rocket engine in the video is a prototype and has yet to be used, so DON'T COMPLAIN

  • OH my fuckin god !!

  • my sentiments entirely omfg

  • hahahaha. the first 6 seconds i thought "this is a rocket, pssshhhhh"... then boom.

  • holy shit that was awesome

  • I love the sound!

  • cool flame more cool if a doll stading in the flame

  • Heh heh heh, I think they built this engine just for the cool flame.

  • no, they built it for a unique thrust engine meant for future jets and Rockets

  • Oh! That's pretty cool! I was just being a smartass though. lol. But that is a cool flame, you've got to admit.

  • Isn't the whole point of this engine for the Mars Express manned flight?

Where the plan is to send an automated factory to Mars ahead of a manned mission, it will make methane from CO2 in the martian atmosphere for the return journey.

  • No. The point is to be able to use the methane from the atmosphere of other planets or moons as fuel. It was designed to be used on unmanned flights and use the fuel to return.

Methane cannot be made from CO2. Methane is CH4. There is no hydrogen in carbon dioxide.

  • Methane can come from 2 things on our planet.

    1: Hygrogen from water.

    2: OUR ASSES!!!!!! XD

But there may be other sources of methane, like volcanos

  • coal

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder if methane could replace lH2 for many upper stage applications since it's easier to handle but still offers high ISP.

Also methane engines, fuel tanks, and turbo pumps are a lot cheaper to build.

  • holy fuck! looks like a giant butane lighter

  • Oh hell yeah!! I want one :)

  • Bloody Hell Indeed!

  • Bloody hell!

  • cartman voice (sweet)
