@katsumorymoto Actualy is designed NOT to be too nerdy. There are no flashy graphics for example, no pictures of starships or other show related images whatsoever. Its a practicle application of the Lcars style of interface applied to the day to day operations of a PC, as best as it can be anyway. Obviously its based on star trek though so it has a couple of little toys such as the red alert and self destruct.
@cbcdesign001 If you think this is practical, then good for you.
I, on the other hand, will never be caught dead using this piece of shit. I have a brother who uses Linux, and with him I understand he sacrifices a little user-friendliness for immunity to glitches, crashes, exploits, etc. In my opinion, Windows/Linux and Mac operating systems are the most natural and user-friendly way to use our computer technologies.
Good luck popularizing LCARS. I think it'll remain esoteric & cultish/nerdly.
3. it's inappropriate to even apply the term "cool" with the variables i emphasized
That's why people like you get labelled as "trolls". You approach the meaning of life in such a non-existent fashion that you literally will use any cheap trick to simply monopolize an audience rather than supply actual content in anything you ever have to say.
@bigadrian100 true. but i get nothing from knowing that i have it and others do not. keeping this to myself goes against the spirit of open source projects.
@Samus312 keep checkin youtube theres a guy that made one to control stuff in his house like air conditioning and theres also a guy who did one as a control panel in his car.
Hey how did you get the alarm to work after your countdown? I'm running this on Windows 7 and it just gives me an error message when the timer runs out on the "alarm" setting. Works fine with "shut down" though.
@BugBear6000 it worked right from the start. it always stops short of the full countdown by about a tenth of a second or so. works ok on vista other than the occasional crash. hogs the cpu as you can see in the video. still fun to screw around with though.
It's cute, but this type of interface is bulky and inefficient.

Is this compatible with XP?

I don't like it. It's basically a text-based graphical interface, which is completely illogical.

Would be great fun on a touch screen, maybe better yet a tablet!

How do you get the Self Destruct alarm option ?

most people will not tell you where you can get the apps like this one or mods they would rather keep it for them self.
