@ellenhallam Hm, it depends on the simplicity of the drawing, this one took me about 1 hour to draw and 1 more hour to color. Sometimes it takes me about 4 to 6 hours to finish something, it all depends :)

Creo que ya entendí tu pregunta. Ya que tu dibujo es escaneado, no cuenta con un fondo transparente.

Digamos que actualmente tus dibujos son a blanco y negro puros. No te sugiero que te avientes la monumental tarea de "borrar" el blanco y dejar las lineas en negro sobre una capa transparente.

Mejor simplemente haz una copia de tu dibujo en una nueva capa y en las propiedades, cambiala de "normal" a "multiply". Debajo de ella aplica los colores en capas. Dudas?

ok, entonces mas o menos la tecnica es crear diferentes capas para cada elemento del dibujo por ejemplo una capa para el cabello y yo solo me dedicaria a rellenar sin preocuparme de que el relleno se salga de las lineas cierto ?? si es asi es un ahorro de esfuerzo grande..larayokoshima como haces para darle esos retoques al pelo al principio de este video ? cuales son tus pinceles preferidos? con cuales logras estos acabados ? es necesario practicar con todos ? muchas gracias.

@YouTuboncio Asi es, la idea es crear capas para cada cosa. Y pues esos retoques son ya el coloreado del cabello, usando diferentes grosores de pincel para darle mas efecto. El pincel que utilicé para este dibujo fue Round Camelhair, y es mi preferido de hecho. Si gustas practicar con varios hasta encontrar uno que se te acomode, puedes hacerlo, eso es cosa de cada quien :)

@YouTuboncio Los aumento o reduzco manualmente a mis necesidades. Painter te lo facilita si mantienes presionados CTRL + ALT. Te aparecerá una cruz sobre el canvas mientras los presionas, en ese momento con tu mouse haz click y "agranda" o "reduce" el tamaño de tu pincel.

@eikay18 Well, like you just said, it's a matter of preference, but to me Painter works much better for this kind of digital coloring. It does have more brushes than Photoshop and they are all customizable as well, so the possibilities for artistic painting are endless :)

I have a question about the quality of the picture, though. It seems that the way you saved it the picture's quality remained excellent and I was just wondering ( because every time I try to save a picture on Corel the quality isn't all that great ) what type of file do you save it as. Eh, that's not really a question, but yeah.

It's a very good question actually. I save my work on PSD all the time and with all the layers, not flat. Painter has also a native file format which is called RIFF, but if you want to later edit in Photoshop, you'll have to save in PSD.

If you want to keep quality, never used JPG, GIF or PNG since they are all compressed image formats and meant for web display only. You can make copies if you want, but always keep your original working files intact.

Um, well... I first apply flat color to the area, then lock the transparent pixels so the color won't smudge out of the lines. Photoshop has a similar feature for each layer....

Pues felicidades por obtener Painter, es uno de los mejores programas para ilustrar. De hecho sería mi recomendación profesional. Por supuesto, tampoco puede faltar el Photoshop. Existen otros programas mas sencillos para bocetar y colorear, como openCanvas o el popular Paint Tool SAI.

Ahh okk... :D jeje si bueno el que tengo es el 11.... y ps tambien estaba pensando en obtener la Wacom intuos 4, pero debo agregar que jeje solo sé dibujar, pintar bocetear, lo que sea pero en lapiz y color o lo que sea jejeje no en tablet..., manejar programas de diseño tales como Painter ps es Prueba y Ensayo..., tambien noté que todo lo trabajas en capas, debo preguntar, la capa "Canvas" que esta bloqueada es solo el lienzo verdad? recomiendas trabajar sobre ella directamente

Al menos para trabajar digitalmente el método apropiado es el de dejar la linea en una capa aparte. Aunque si te sientes aventurera y artística, puedes hacerlo todo en el canvas, pero debo advertir que no funciona igual que dibujar/colorear tradicionalmente. Es cosa de que pruebes, practiques y encuentres tu técnica.

Sure, try ballpoint pen for sketching (looks better than traditional 2B pencil). Smoot Round Pen in any size you feel comfortable with it's perfect for getting bold, super black lines for your inking.

Glad you liked the picture :) sadly I only do yaoi and shonen-ai since girl-on-girl is not really my thing.

The opacity for camelhair I use goes from 60 to 80%, but 80 is good for me most of the time.

These effects are proof of Corel Painter's superiority over Photoshop's brushes. You don't need to figure out what brush is, it's writen in the description, please reaaaaad. Also, practice is the key to achieve such nice, soft, smudgey edges :)

Hey. Well, I recommend the flat Pen tool, it works like a charm for filling and you don't have to adjust any of its specs. Oh, and transition from Photoshop to Painter is gonna be a bit painful, since they work so differently. Good luck! :3

Well, I do all my drawings digitally now. But, 300dpi is the best resolution for scanning. Usually pencil lines look grainy when scanned, depending on the paper you use. It shouldn't be a problem. If you want really clean, black lines, then ink it first and scan again :)

Hmm... I think I wrote in the description this one took me about 1 hour 36 minutes. This one was quick because the coloring is simple. Other more advanced stuff takes days to finish.

To hide the tool windows, press the Tab key, to show press it again.
