  • Sierra's definitely my fav actress i want to fly to new york to see her perform... missed seeing her played christine in love never dies although i watched it twice ;(

  • 3:50 - 4:23 what did I just watch? ^^ amazing

  • not bad Sierra but she needs to work a lot the italian =S she has a beautiful voice but for opera......=S

  • I mean Siera is obviously no opera singer, but I didn't know she could sing like that!!! She better work!!!

  • I loved loved LOVED this! I saw it for my sweet 16. :)

    What an amazing cast!

I met them all, and they're just completely amazing.

They took their own time to talk to everyone, and sign the playbills. <3

  • Every time I see Tyne Daly in ANYTHING, her facial expressions are absolute gold.

  • Only Tyne Daly could turn Maria Callas into Rodney Dangerfield!

  • @hollabelle I wouldn't be so quick to judge. The show is called master class, as in "a class". They aren't supposed to be perfect, and her voice is not "fine". Her voice is beautiful, especially live, I saw this two nights ago in New York. No she is not and opera singer professionally. She's not supposed to be a "perfect" opera singer, that's the point. I'd check her out in some other things, and you'd change your mind about her voice being "fine".

  • I love this Master Class. I look each week for any new entry to youtube each week. I am sad the run is only to Sept 4th. Looking for the new work Tyne is going to be doing later this year or so I heard. Tyne is amazing in this you forget Tyne and get sucked into Maria's life and world... I hope they put this on Great Preformaces on PBS... so all can love this too

  • SIERRA BOGGESS is LOVE :D

  • they should have worked with that girl much more on Italian diction. the voice is fine, not an opera singer, but it's fine. i think it's just the lack of diction that make her sound unprofessional.

  • I commend Sierra for the work she's doing in this musical. She came from basically no operatic background and worked with several Juilliard coaches and an amazing voice teacher to prepare to sing an aria from one of Verdi's most difficult roles he ever wrote, Lady M. Who cares if it's not the most operatic sound, this is a play about singers in school. This isn't about a master class with all professional opera singers. And this is coming from an opera singer.

  • I saw this two weeks ago & was BLOWN AWAY!

love, love, love Sierra!! She is my inspiration & I was speechless when I met her!

Al & I are blogger bffs now

  • that chick sucks.

    her tone is not opera.

just because she has high notes does not mean she has proper opera technique.

    she should stick with Broadway.

  • @DragWithNoPenis you should investigate before saying something… Sierra has always said she's not trained as an opera singer… and we all know that. and for the record "Master Class" IS Broadway! duh!!!

  • @DragWithNoPenis This IS broadway.

  • Saw this a few nights ago....Tyne Daly and Sierra Boggess we're both amazing, Tyne was very funny!!!

  • Alexandra Silber as Sophie DePalma is brilliant! Her comedic timing, chemistry with Tyne Daly, the voice and dramatic transformation at the end of Act 1 where absolutely stunning!

  • 2 people clearly do not have ears to hear there amazing voices or eyes to see how stunning Sierra and Alex are...

  • love love love sierra boggess!!!!!

  • @aledu89 I met her last night after the show! She was sooooooo nice to me at the Stage Door. She even signed my LITTLE MERMAID playbill and CD. Tyne was the same and took her time to sign every Playbill. The show itself was breathtaking!!

  • @aledu89 ME TOOOOO! I had the enormous pleasure of meeting her backstage after Master Class and it was quite possibly the greatest experience i've ever had meeting a famous person! What woman how humble how nice!

  • @aledu89 I know, me too. She's become one of my favorite theatre actresses after seeing her in 25th Anniversary production of 'Phantom of the Opera'.

  • Well... call me dumb. But I could not tell if this was scripted or not. I mean, surely a master class isn't "scripted", the reactions and dialogue just seemed like something I would read. haha.

  • @jasonabroussard it's a play called "Master Class;" it is scripted. Audra McDonald won a Tony for her portrayal as Sharon in the original production!

  • @soupboy15 Thanks!

  • @jasonabroussard The play is set up as though the students were doing a master class with Maria Callas (the role that Tyne is playing). But from the first to the last it is played as though you were watching an actual master class with Callas. At the beginning she comes out an addresses the audience, and there is even a "stagehand" who is part of the play. It's a wonderful piece.
