I miss Matt haimovitz!!!!!! such a wonderful being! we studied with the same cello instructor in palo alto!

I studied piano as a young teen in Palo Alto with Matt's mother, Marlena (a gorgeous woman with an infectious passion for music that she passed on to her students). I remember Matty as a sweet young boy just starting to play the cello. It's exciting to see him doing such original things with music, and he's obviously grown into a thoughtful and insightful man and artist. What a joy!

I worked at CBGB and was there when he performed. He's a wonderful musician and a very nice person. He played a great set.

The only problem when he played was from some of his fans who came to see him. Matt Haimovitz wanted to play CBGB, a dimly lit rock bar where it's mostly standing room. Many of the people who came to see him were nasty and rude to our staff simply because they did not like the club and it wasn't set up like the usual spaces he might play.
