  • i wish the suspension flexed more so it wouldn't look so out of its element... nice truck though

  • TDI definitely helps, gotta love that low-end punch.

  • rofl my stock rokee could wqalk up this shit in 2wd

  • quadradrive ruuuulzzz!

  • worst 4wd ever.... keep SUVs on shopping malls parking slots

  • @H264codec2 not true. it s the most capable luxury suv.

  • volskwagen rules!!!! born to rule!!!

  • excellent performance for a SUV! Only LR SUV's can beat that

  • why do you never see this with offroad tires?

  • wow with normal mature weight and lot '

  • Too much wheel spin. FAIL!

  • @gawker8750 you are an idiot !

  • @Joohnnney No really.... Too much wheel spin highlights the lack of true locking differentials. Touregs are obviously not made for heavy rockcrawling, like in MOAB.

  • @gawker8750 do a mercedes or any other car in this...no one climb this !!!

    sry for shit englisch

  • @gawker8750 those werent offroad tires durrrr

  • Hitler must be proud !!

  • i was planning on purchasing either a entry level range rover, or a deluxe package of this. there both great. i know the range rover's a status thing but my friends want a new car. help me choose?

  • @theotherguy245689 We bought a range rover sport HSE about a year ago. And this thing is great for offroad driving, very comfortable on normal roads too. You get a great offroad computer with it too, really feel what the car is trying to do when climbing steep dirt tracks. I know you would think that a range rover is like a "status" car with little to no offroad capability, but boy i was proved wrong when we took it offroadin. Not had any mechanical fault yet. Manual with 120k miles on the clock

  • @contemporarymonk cool thnx

  • 100% Epic fail!

  • neutral response: nice to see the traction control braking the free wheels so that those in contact have the most effect.

sarcastic response would be 'that's useful' but acknowledge that it's a case of each to his own and it's a credible performer.

  • wow, 10 pts for the Touareg.

  • did they just want to show off that all four wheels actually move in 4x4?

  • cheap porche cayanne anybody agree? and did anybody catch that stunt at :41? My ford explorer sport can do that...and its a POS

  • cheap porche cayanne anybody agree?

  • Man is this thing ugly or what? It looks like a polished turd with rounded edges.

    New vehicles are:

    - Overpriced

    - Overhyped

    - Overexposed

Get a K/5 Blazer for $4,000 and your good to go.

  • This VW performs unbelievably well,I am surprised. I can see however that it would suffer rim and body damage if driven just a little harder. Awesome ride but too nice to push so hard.

  • Is the suspention on xtra high level (30 cm clearence) ore Off road hight (24 cm) ?

  • Nice *fake* at 2:43...

  • open diff FTL D:

  • its not bad for a vw, still would prefer american trucks, i have a s-10 blazer

  • burnout :DDD

  • This proves the Touareg is a real 4x4 and not a crossover aka mall cruiser.

  • LAME! I'm so impressed by the performance on a very moderate Moab trail - nice brake grinding in that re-markeded ABS system you call traction control. It would be a lot safer for everyone if VW engineers had the inclination for articulation and kept those wheels on the ground - brakes work better when the tires are on the ground, and you don't roll over and get in the way of real 4x4's! If my Subaru had that poor of suspension charateristics ID SELL IT!!! I bet that VW's unibody is BENT now!

  • круть

  • makes me proud to own one

  • LOL get back to us when that $800 rear driveshaft has to be replaced for a rubbing noise cuz VW thinks you are stupid and will not sell the $13 bearing alone so you get stuck with a $1,500 overall bill. VW techs are dumb and aren't mechanically inclined enough to know how to replace a center support bearing anyway so it's probably best for public saftey

  • is that the v10 o:?

  • Nice driving. Same platform as the cayenne, bomb proof!

  • @chuffwit Water bombs maybe........................Thrown by the Jonas brothers.......

You obviously have little knowledge of driving skills....... or how to drive offroad if this impresses you. Must be what draws you to a Porsche.......

  • V10 TDI. BEST ENGINE U Can GET ON A TOUAREG

  • @Viperfire2 And still a POS!!!! Nothing like too many parts/cylinders for too little output for too little vehicle!!! more to fail! I LOVE the plastic coolant crossover pipes that are under the starter, that is idiodically under the intake minifold - where it gets nice and heat soaked - so it fails early - that's "farfrommovin'" - and then the plastic pipe bursts and you are under the gun for 24 hrs of labor at $110 and you still own a stock POS that isn't going to see 150K!

  • shit car ...eletronics...wtf ...gime me a carbutarsator...NO ELETRONICS ON CARS !!! DRIVE LADA AND SUZUKI SAMURAI 4 EVER !!!!

  • @tudorino66 LOL True Blue - VW couldn't even dream of putting out a car that cost less than $20K, can see over 100K miles, and actually has rock crawling characteristics right out of the box from the factory!! How embarassing for VW/Audi/Porche group - they should have been burned right along with Hitler decades ago.

  • which TDI? the V6 or the V10?

  • WHY DON'T YOU USE REAR DIFF LOCK ?

  • many clever Jeepers maybe Us Stupids here....sorry for my English but better than ur German ;-)

Made in Germany and on our Roads not many Us Cars or wait ...maybe in Japan??

Someone look for new Jobs in Detroit.

    Nice VDO ...

  • @ThaiSumoRider learn how to speak english before you come to an american website

  • that is really going to screw up the allignment

Cars are not designed for that.

    cool video though

  • u know its pretty easy to walk up small rocks, y waste ur time tryin to get a 3 ton piece of meta over it at half a kilometer and hour. well done if anything

  • WOOW check The sound men!!! F16!!

  • land rover, the best 4 x 4 x far !!!!

  • @zancu05 Yeah - that is must be why I see them everywhere way back on the high mountain trails and other areas only the Jeeps see.... Nice 1930's Buick motor............ They should be banned from offroad use by the EPA simply due to the high amount of oil and other toxic fluid leaks that plauge them!

  • It looks like a freakin mini van ahaha.

  • i wanna get my montero sport over there

  • Why do people refuse to put proper tires on a Touareg? They always do this stuff with street tires. There's no way street tires are better for this kind of thing. Have you ever seen a Jeep at Moab with street tires?

  • Most of the time you see T-reg in Moab vids , it was from Volkswagen Touareg Adventure. The point was to show how capable offroad the car was straight from the factory floor.

  • @BahatiSeason1 Yeah - very capable - sounds like a CV is about to ex[plode or a spot weld is going to trear - or was that a strut mount ripping!! LOL!!!

  • @rogerpemberton i have....

  • i think the jeepers around there had a good day for laughing.

  • Yea, then the Jeepers drove their Jeeps to the club and got laughed at by the Touragers....

  • @op3l ,who drives a shabby jeep to a pub is an idiot, and who drives a vw to moab is an idiot too.

  • Yea... but note how the VW is doing well here also.

  • @op3l Who would be affected by a bunch of posers who obviously are a bunch of Johnny-come-lately's to the off-road gig??? You losers are a real source of entertainment.

Real jeepers throw parties in the backwoods with their Jeeping buds cuz we can GO THERE! The women are usually there too whle you toureggers have a sausage party at the club and we enjoy your wives, girlfriends and daughters!

  • @RebelofMetal err ok jeep fanboy.

  • @RebelofMetal SERIOUSLY dude.. coming from a man that owns 3 jeeps, including a CJ7 on unimog portals, 4spd tcase... YOU SIR ARE AN IDIOT. Go ahead and express your views, but dont generalize the rest of us Jeep guys in with your idiocy. you sound like a 17 year old Red Neck with a beat to shit YJ.. throw your jeep out there STOCK AGAINST a Rag in the desert, lets see who comes back at all let alone first! please refrain from making the True JEEPers look like idiots on your behalf.

  • good driveer

  • street tires are probably desirable on this type of terrain

  • That was pretty impressive besides the pathetic attempt at wheel articulation. That is a perfect example showing where lockers can get a stock car although those computerised ones seem to muck around a bit, get some F-ing airlockers and be done with it.

  • @llewellyn11 it dosent use a locker in the sense of a typical diff style, its a combination of a LSD and the computer breaking the one single wheel thats free, thats why it looked like it was spinnig /stopping how it was, the diff is dependant on each wheel being locked by the brake when its spinning free, the rest of the time it operates as a LSD, its come a long ways and its pretty cool tech that goes into it, deff not for this, but fun to watch none the less lol!

  • @curtis133 If that's an LSD - then that is EMBARASSING slippage!!! VW "re-selling" the same ABS system once again - now it's a "Locker"? LOL!!!!

  • this thing is a frigging mountain goat. Imagine it with proper tires

  • I never expected this truck to behave that good on O.R. !!!

Still a jeep fan, but this is not bad at all!!!

  • same here wasnt enough to make me like it over the jeep

  • Being two or three new ones were out getting close-up video these were prob. test drivers collecting data.... and to say our VW can do it.

  • monten al audi q7 en la montaña vs el touareg

le apotaria mil a 1 al touareg

  • and jeeps suck

  • Ok, The ML is good, but your comparing a 2004 to a 2009 bud

  • Nice

  • lol at 1:10 you can see that its shitty computerized differentials simply cannot handle the job- this car is for the city- get a rangerover with real hardware differentials and it will climb even with 2 tires in air.

  • So true. As good as the Touraeg might be it is not a proper offrader such as the landrovers

  • @hunspikey

buahahahahhaha Range Rover hahaha thats a good joke

Nissan Patrol >>> your shity computerized Rover with air suspension in da ass

  • Nor the nissan, nor this town VW has no option for sway bay unlocking, which even a Porsche Cayenne can do. BTW im sorry for my mistake I wanted to write Land Rover, not Range Rover. And Land Rover is a real all terrain vehicle.

  • this was surprising

  • 2:42 to 2:47 OMG LOL

  • 1:05 to 1:36 probably only happens cuz ur tires arnt rigged enough and there too bald, besides that the toureg is surprisingly fucking amazing, as is every other vw car...except the beetle. i dont like them

  • Is that the TDI?

  • Yes, this is the TDI.

  • Thanks.

  • @OrchEnt we just got our TDI executive 2011.. planning on hitting up moab by the end of this month!

  • 看起來真的很驚險(+_+)

  • Lexus ... EW

  • no ur lexus cant do this

  • why is the wheel without traction spinning , i thought it had lockin diffs.

or its just that its not 100 % locked

  • it has to spin and stop to check to see if it regain traction.

ESP is also helping out with the climbing as you can hear the breaks squeak

  • ok ... that makes sence ... thanks alot

  • Yep.

I'm pretty sure if ESP was off he wouldn't have made it through half of the stuff he did. cause esp and the diff's work together

  • traction control and the diffs work together, esp works with the brakes to pervent the weels from slipping

  • traction control is part off esp.......

    esp works with the diffs........

  • traction control and esp are different systems, and on some cars there tc but no esp, traction control seneds power to the right weels via the diff, esp is a road based safety feature to pervent you from slidding

  • i know and in the VW Touareg Traction control is embeded into the esp and the onyl way you can turn TC on and off is if you turn off esp.

in the VW Touareg the Diffs work with ESP not just the traction control system.

Its just like VDC exepct VW calls it ESP

  • you hafe right, esp and tc are both incorperated, but the tc part is wat is sending to power to the right wheels, but esp is still working at the same time same with a lot cars and suvs.

  • i have to say that the Touareg is the one of the most beautiful cars i know!!

  • COOOL

  • best car ever, take a test drive, you will Love It xD

  • eat your heart out jeep grand cherokee

  • ce normal parce qei ce 4*4..

  • Great Car; Awesome..!!!

  • It has onroad tyres on, who are you kidding lmao

    Wannabeoffroader :p

  • yeah onroad tires and still that good! imagine how good it would be with offroadtires you clot

  • this is better than your avg family luxuary SUV...

  • CRAZY! touaregs are amazing offroad! and onroad too. very nice to drive/ excellent video! 5/5!

  • @Stilini03 You are too easily impressed by things you don't fully understand -

  • this is sheet

  • this would have been so much better with offroad tyres

  • aand the tire??

its possible to put an off-road tire on the touareg??

  • yes it is...

  • Yes, up to 265/70/17's 31.8" BFG's

  • Good to see that it has these capabilities as well as being a chelsea tractor!
