It is not a propaganda (since it is not an action film). It is mainly about politics, not war. It is a documentary that shows an official history since the end of Sino-Jap war till the proclamation of PRC.
so what all American films is propaganda justifying american hegemone of the whole world, and people still watch it! Chinese people believe what they choose to believe!
I do not give any credibility to any Western media (except some to Bloomberg). They lie more times than they tell true. I have heard purely fabricated news. Therefore, who cares what they tell? They are paid to critisize China, that is what their puppetmasters expect from those puppets.
People who hate China are not going to change their minds because of this film. They probably will not even go see the film. And I don't think the goal of the film is to change people's minds. It more or less preaches to the choir.
The west needs to realize there are people who disagree with the "western view" of China. And these people usually lives or used to live in China. Instead of demonize them as brainwashed people, the west should let them speak and listen to what they have to say.
The word propaganda didn't used to have such a negative attachment. Before WWII, this word was quite neutral and nearly everyone knew what it means. By it's definition alone, literally every film in this world can be considered as "propaganda".
The West also uses propaganda. Some of their Hollywood movies justify American foreign military interventions. They probably also distort facts.
