This has nothing to do with new pins. You came in light, possibly threw it too hard or not enough hand. You were lucky not to leave more pins on the deck.
well maybe if you threw the ball half not shitty and would have hit the 5pin with the ball instead of wanting it to down with hopes and dreams and stopped blaming the pins for you throwing the ball bad then maybe just maybe the pins wouldn't be "kidding you"
wow, way to blame the pins for that. I have stuffed a 5 pin but its never the pins fault new or old. Its your shot, but something on that ball you throw and maybe you can get the drive you need to carry the pin. Just in case your wondering, I bowl 4 nights a week, lowest average is 211. so I might know a little bit about this game
Seeing the pin spin around and not fall down isn't that un common. why the hell would you video it and put it on youtube. You need to seriously work on your spares too.
The pins aren't the reason you missed the five pin. The ball is supposed to hit the five. That little soft handed fade shot will burn you every time. Not enough hand behind it to put the ball where it needs to be.
You guys are being quite hard on him. It was open bowling so no one cares if he gets the spare. He was simply sharing so if you don't like his reaction to it, piss off. I had the same thing happen to be exempt it was the seven pins that spun around while sliding and stopped at the 10 pin spot and it didn't cause an out of range. I was too busy laughing to try for the spare.
Didn't stay down on the shot-not much behind it which is usually why the five is left. A real bowler knows that and doesn't act like some stupid drama queen when they don't get the strike.
One thing is clear: He does not know how to bowl! Look at his sliding foot (via stop-action) on each shot. If his second shot had the same angle as the first he would have had the spare. Instead, he was way over to the right. When you leave the 5-pin on a pocket hit, just roll the same shot for the spare, Same starting point on the approach, same finishing board, and same spot on the lane. AND DON'T RUSH THE SHOT!
@Bowler4Ever Your screen name is incorrect, for you will never BE a real bowler with that sort of "attitude". A real bowler puts as much...or more...effort into making each and every spare as he does with strikes. He must develop a consistent game, where each delivery is executed as if it really matters. Earl Anthony (who I knew before he died) was arguably the greatest bowler ever. He never fooled around by "not trying to make" spares. The same goes for Mark Roth.
@DeedsResearcher Jesus Christ you people need to tone the fuck down. One video and you treat this man like he's in the PBA? This isn't the place to criticize, dumbasses. Either way, you are judging this man's entire bowling career by one shot? Those bowlers you mentioned obviously have/had times in their lives where they don't care much for the spare. No matter how dedicated. It's human.
@wcbombers21 For what it's worth, I think his real problem is a lack of maturity. He got upset with leaving the 5-pin, feeling he should have had a strike. So, he fooled around with his 2nd shot and blew the spare. By fooling around, he cost himself 11 possible pins. Note also that in the first shot, his left knee was not bent at the point of release. He WAS down, but rose up, for whatever reason. He will never be a bowler until he masters the fundamentals of the game.
@DeedsResearcher Who, on earth, well, the real earth, doesn't get immature at times? This is one frame... on one day... WHAT DOES IT REALLY MATTER!? It was a bummer and he is allowed to not care for one ball. Get over yourself and bug off. If you were a bowler, then you would sympothize and make fun with him... not condemn him and demean him and his chances to do what he wants.
@drudeken On the lanes, there is really no room for fooling around. Bowlers form habits when they are young. One of the keys to success on the Tour is being able to make one shot after another after another, with each shot looking like the one before it. REPETITION! He posted this shot here on youtube, and cried about the pins. It's time he looks at himself instead of blaming the pins.
He rushed the line on the second shot, so the ball arrived at the foul line late....getting pulled to the right. He's also got too much speed, which does not give the pins enough time to mix. Based on what I saw, my guess is he's using a 12-14 pound ball...a lightweight. Get up to 16!
For the record, I was a PBA member for 6 years back in the 1980s.
Thats a very odd leave for that kind of hit. Ive never had that Happen to me with new pins. My bowling center just got brand new pins on lane 1-18. I really like the sound that new pins make. Lanes 1-12 have the dark striped AMF Qubica pins but lanes 13-18 have the regular red striped AMF Light II pin.
Ive always thought new pins were better because the bottoms are sharp vs old pins that have rounded bottoms that make them wobble more.
is this in melbourne?
