how does this thing compare to a 6262? im thinking of buying this head for 260 euro or buying a 6262 combo for 330 euro. i play mostly metallica, what do you recommend?
@LeaveMeTheFkAlone if you want something for metallica get the 6262, its a clone of the peavey 5150, much more suited for metal, this amp is primarily for vintage tones
I hope bugera will grow and hit the top market of tube amps, because they actually LISTEN to their costumers to improve the amps. Great tone! I'm really considering to buy a v55 or v22 myself right now :)
I bought this amp 1 year ago because of your great reviews!!!! No regrets!!!! This amp really kicks ass!!! Great clean and distorsion tones!!! By the way I´m using a 7 strings guitar!!!No one out there can beat this little vintage-beast around this price.
damn that is awesome, I was thinking about buying this amp because it's so cheap and now that I've seen what it can do I'm buying it for sure! I read a review online that said it's gain sucked because it was a vintage amp but now I know that that guy just didn't play around with the settings enough
Never heard of Bugera until tonight. Came across your vids while researching some of their different models and I must say, you're a badass guitarist. It's sad that someone would make these accusations against you for no reason and I apologize for any negative outlook that may have cast on your viewers. That said, I'm really digging this amp...hopefully picking one up for myself pretty soon
@dingle1 do you know if this amp can produce metal tones like this at higher volumes, like say, a high enough volume to play at a show? I want to buy this amp because it's cheap and seems good, but the more experienced guys in my band tell me that bugera amps are liable to break easy
Wow. Brutal sound without effects. This is the first video I've seen of yours (sad you had to justify yourself this way to some idiot). I'm an instant fan. Fanstastic! BTW, is that a Hagstrom you're playing there?
Hi Dingle! I'm a very big fan of yours from Bulgaria. I'm also a pretty big fan of Bugera. I play in a metalcore band, but we put a lot of acoustic and spacey things in our new songs. I'm lookin' for a Bugera, and i liked the V55, couse you show the good metal features along with the nice cleans. It's a perfect as an idea, but i would like to hear some Killswitch Engage played on it. I just wanted to ask you, if you have time to record som killswitch riffs with this amp. You'd make me happy :)
@dingle1 and thanks to you :) I'm asking you for this favour, couse if i want to try that amp here, i'd have to buy it from Germany :D becouse it's all sold out in our official importer. I'd also ask (if you have the time ofcourse) you to put some effects which will boost the signal to achieve the nice metalcore sound :)
@flemito Getting a metal tone from the V series amps depends a lot on cabinets, pickups and tuning. If you want an authentic Yngwie tone why not try the 1960?
How could anybody ever think this amp is incapable of doing metal? It has 3 12AX7s and 2 6L6s. Of course it can do metal. Thanks Dingle, for showing people that you don't need a million valves, you just need the right ones. Crackin' tone.
@razorguitar777 oh haha.. Well.. the only Crate cab that sounds good is the one that has V30s in it. All the other Crate cabs have thin wood, so the volume output is not as strong. That and the cruddy speakers sound so narrow and tinty. Try a 5150 / 6505 cab (has the Sheffield 1200 speakers), or any Vintage 30 cab and you'll HAVE to own one :)
Okay', another little question (you're the only one who makes metal with this amp ^^') : Do you think I could have a great metal sound with this amp if I put a tube distortion pedal in the clean channel ?
man i got a real serious question, im kinda caught between this amp and an Ibanez TBX150H Tone Blaster Xtreme head. i love the way the bugera looks and i love the clean channel, and from this video i can tell it has great distortion, but ive read alot of reviews and alot of people say the distortion channel is weak. the ibanez is cheaper and it has really positive reviews, but its solid state and i really hate solid state. both amps have their ups and downs, but which would you choose??
@razorguitar777 I'm gunna say that like MOST people that play tube amps, they don't understand that the Master Gain needs to be quite a ways up to really get the tubes grinding. It's obvious in this video that with the Master as far up as he has it, along with the Pre-gain up at 7, you'll get quite a grindy tone. THAT and not using a shotty Crate speaker cab GOSH those things sound like shiz!!
thanks for the response good to no i will stick with my marshall but i am trying to find a good amp for my brother so he will quit taking mine and you video was a big help thanks
so you have the gain on 7 how much more gain is in the amp if you put it all the way on 10? Also if you back off on the master how much dose that change the tone being a tube amp can you get that metal tone with tha master turned down to 3 or 4 because in moste bars i play in i cant get my 50 watt amp past 3 or 4
@TeenGohan5 Like most amps, if you crank the gain to 10, you're missing it's sweet spot. If you need more sustain or a more liquid sound for leads, I would add an OD pedal rather than take the gain any further. This amp has seperate channel volumes, so you can crank the master without breaking glasses in a bar gig.
Do you think I could get this same tone from a Les Paul with a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the bridge, and a Strat with a GFS Crunchy Pat (14K DC Resistance)? (Both guitars are in E Standard).
my peavey 6505+ and my framus cobra are too loud for bedroom practise. so I asked mysefl if this bugera v55 with an emg's guitar in drop c and maxon od 808 could ofer me a great metalcore tone at low volume ? or if the bugera 333xl is better at the same volume ? (I try the bugera 333 and the 6260 and I didn't like at all...so fuzzy. maybe the V55 is smother ?)
Are you using the stock tubes in it?? It sounds pretty badass!!! Screw the haters, they probably tried playing one with single coils in a squire strat or something haha!!!
Because of this vid I went and did a metal test of my own on a v55hd. if you crank the master, set the gain up and use the channel volume to control the volume, you too can get this kinda sound. it was super think and chunky, but still very clear and not a lot of noise at all. Eff the guy that claimed you fake it. If anything the vid doesn't do it justice! Good work Dingle!
ay dingle! i wanna say that i love what you're doing for bugera amps. i got my 6262 full stack not too long ago and i absolutly love it! anyway, i wanted to ask about that tokai. i've been interested in getting one of my own, but i cant really find them anywhere. how did you come across yours?
@no1good1names Thanks man. I got my Tokai from RichTone music on ebay. They always have a shed load of them, from cheaper Chinese ones (stay away from those) to high end MIJ models for big bucks.
A lot of your tone has to do with your guitar tuning, the speakers (which are much better than the crappy Bugera stock speaker cabs), and most of all the tone coming straight out of your hands. You can get a number of "non-metal" amps to sound metal with the right tuning, riffs, speakers, guitar, and playing. Good job either way.
I hope they solved their reliability problems on thei amp, cos i really want to get a v55hd again, it sounded so cool to my ear!!!
I would also be happy to try the 333xl or the 6262, i tried out a combo version of the 6260 and i didn't liked it that much, sounded a bit too "mosquito" if you know what i mean.
Hey Dingle, I've seen the price on these babies and it's not expensive..around 300 pounds.. yet it sounds sooo good!! :0 Do you think it's worth the money? Btw, your vids are AMAZING! You're very inspiring and talented ;D
people just hate coz they cant get the good of a tone from there high end amps and yours maybe better than theres but you know how to set an eq on the amp and maybe they dont plus the bad wrap that bugera had early on in there early days is what makes people think twice about them and lets face it we can not sound like DINGLE coz we are not him and we dont have his equipement either so keep up the good work i know i enjoy it all and if you dont like dingles vid check out mtuck5150 vids
Hey Brotha..Loved the demo..we all know,we as in your fans and followers know there was no trickery in anyway..but the person who didn't believe it is just a beginner,no dexterity at all, for instance just because you are plating thru jimi hendrix's rig..you won't sound like him because of the tone isn't in your hands as it is his...the same goes for you...he doesn't have your hands and dexterity to play or sound like you.... love your tone and vids brotha Dingle....Ray
@dingle1 ...I get all kind of haters bro... not sure why either !!! You are nothing short of being one of the most generous guys on here...showing your settings and everything and you still get disbelievers.... it doesn't take away from your GREAT playing and tone...
@TheDistortionist I agree. I also own a V55HD and i can get it sounding pretty heavy, tho not as heavy as Mr. D here.
I run mine thru a Lorantz 1X12 and it kicks. I just bought a V5 the other day and the speaker, (while resoanble) is nothing like a good Celestion or Lorantz (which is BETTER than Celestion imo).
The Bugera boxes are OK but not great. Better speakers installed will make a better sounding box. I will change the speaker in the V5 once its out of warranty.
Chunk ..what people do not understand the now tow amps sound the same ,,just similar so you might not be able to get his exact tone ,,Nice Demo Dave sounds F sweet my friend ,,i think it's the green eyed monster the rattled him .;-)
@col33145 LOL, thanks Col. It's true that no two amps sound the same. Plus there's the cab, guitar, pickups, and most important the different playing styles. How many people buy their favourite stars rig and can't get their tone?
hey dave do you reckon bugera fixed the little issue with the way the wire was soldered ? i want to buy a bugera this year but i don't want to get attatched to it then have to let it go for a week or two to get repaired, that happened with my spider valve when the tubes blew and i was lost playing a solid state amp lol
Nice in your face video my friend! You kept your cool a lot better than I EVER would have. I don't know how some of you youtubers can keep your composure when you are constantly getting flamed for this and that over the videos that you make. Props and much respect Dingle!
I send the following message to the person who made the accusation,
"Might I suggest that the 30+ years experience you claim to have has not served you well. I would also request and appology, publically, seeing as what you did was tantamount to accusing me of lying.
If no appology is forthcoming, then I'll delete your comments"
This was his response
"Hi Dave, you can delete my comments, no problem and have a nice day!"
Clearly, after accusing me publically of lying, no applogy.
Awesome man! it sounds killer! but i always wondered, what kind of tone would you describe it as? Marshall? Peavey? Mesa..? Also, do you think i could gig and play stages with it comfortably, i mean, would it be loud enough? (I play Deathcore, and other modern fiasco)
@acompres Thanks man. I dunno, I heard a lonestar cranked and it sounded like this. I've used it at small venues and it's more than capable. In a big venue you're micd anyway.
DINGLE1!!!!!!! AWESOME VIDEO!!!!! But we all know you are an honest person. You didn't have to make this to prove to anybody that you are not faking the sound. IN FACT, I THINK THEY ARE JUST ENVIOUS OF YOU CAUSE THEY CAN'T GET A GOOD TONE OUT OF THEIR AMP AND THEY TAKE IT OUT ON YOU!!!!!!! LOL CHEERS MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DINGLE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello
I´m very interested in a Bugera V22, How good is it for Metal?, How good is it for metal in comparison with the V55?
I´m interested in something like Yngwie, that means I need some drive but want it to be very clean, that´s why I´m interested in this amp.
I do also have a Vox Tonelab ST (Valve powered), so I think it would be a great match.
Please let me know your opinion.

your videos made me bite the bullet and buy this amp at guitar center recently. i have a question, a possible issue with the amp...
when it is switched into triode mode (switch up) there is a low frequency hum that occurs with and without guitar signal.
is this an issue with these amps? or am i unfortunately special? maybe a tube issue? any help would be great!
been watching your videos for a while, keep it up! hope all is well.

V55HD is a great sounding amp. The real problems are 2:
1 - If you don't know your gear and your guitar, setting an amp will be freakin hard.
2 - People don't trust the Bugera brand because at the beginning there was i huge lack of relaiability on their products.
Dingle can surely remember cos i had problems too with bugera.

@dingle1 ...I get all kind of haters bro... not sure why either !!! You are nothing short of being one of the most generous guys on here...showing your settings and everything and you still get disbelievers.... it doesn't take away from your GREAT playing and tone...

People forget the importance of good speakers. They play them through those crappy Bugera cabs and then whine about how it doesn't sound the same.
TheDistortionist 1 year ago
@TheDistortionist I agree. I also own a V55HD and i can get it sounding pretty heavy, tho not as heavy as Mr. D here.
I run mine thru a Lorantz 1X12 and it kicks. I just bought a V5 the other day and the speaker, (while resoanble) is nothing like a good Celestion or Lorantz (which is BETTER than Celestion imo).
The Bugera boxes are OK but not great. Better speakers installed will make a better sounding box. I will change the speaker in the V5 once its out of warranty.

@dingle1 Sweet dear jesus, thats an expensive guitar. I always thought Tokai's, Burny's, and Edward's go from $500-$1000 here in the states.
Ah, well, I don't have my job yet, so I can't afford anything. =/

Chunk ..what people do not understand the now tow amps sound the same ,,just similar so you might not be able to get his exact tone ,,Nice Demo Dave sounds F sweet my friend ,,i think it's the green eyed monster the rattled him .;-)
col33145 1 year ago
@col33145 LOL, thanks Col. It's true that no two amps sound the same. Plus there's the cab, guitar, pickups, and most important the different playing styles. How many people buy their favourite stars rig and can't get their tone?

Hey Dingle! I read that comment last night, the guy is a tool. What reason do you have to post a fake video? Thanks for all the videos you post.

hey dave do you reckon bugera fixed the little issue with the way the wire was soldered ? i want to buy a bugera this year but i don't want to get attatched to it then have to let it go for a week or two to get repaired, that happened with my spider valve when the tubes blew and i was lost playing a solid state amp lol

(I play Deathcore, and other modern fiasco)
acompres 1 year ago
