  • Ummmm..........

  • How can I get the real audio for this?

  • Yeah what's with the music?!

  • SORRY IT WAS PUT TO WORKING man but they blocked it. i had to audio swap.

  • Why wasn't Neil Peart there?

  • What's with the lobby music?

  • dick move, youtube.

  • Dave Grohl is great but next to Geddy ..like a choir boy to a rock god

  • any band in the world must feel like pee on's standing next to the founders of rush. What an amazing feeling it must be for this guy to be in the presents of these guys. Long live rush! Canada #1

  • where was neil peart

  • yeah thats what I was wondering. Neil would have been impressed!

  • Probably in LA, now he's not based in Toronto.

  • rush will never die!

  • In THs interview of 5 fav things, the fact that he played with one of his favorite bands and that his dedication to the art of music was and is so strong, there is no wondering why he shares the stage with Rush! Congrats to seeing a dream, working towards and definitely accomplishing it. You can see that THs talant is amazing yet he has many decades left in him.

One can only wonder and wait in anticipation to see his future performances.

    Cheers to living the dream.

    terbo

  • Production merrit granted .

  • what?

  • thats so amazing Foo Fighters were my fav band then it was ush and then now i find out they performed together xD

  • is that a baskett ball court?

  • Air Canada Centre transformed. It's a basketball court, it's an ice arena, it's a concert hall, it's a...

  • anyone knows the name of the song??

  • Working Man

  • lmao at the lenny kravitz comment. well him and geddy are both jewish

  • it was funny how Taylor introduced Alex before they played YYZ

"Mr. Alex Fuckin God Damn Lifeson"

  • Rush rules

  • Geddy lee is fucking AMAZING!!! RUSH IS AN HONOR TO MUSIC!!! FUCKING TOP BANDS IN HISTORY!!!

  • YES. YOU ARE SO FUCKING RIGHT

    rush is THE band

there is NO band like rush

  • well i guess there's only one band like Rush; Dream Theater

  • no

    rtush is better :d

  • i didn't say that dream theater was better

  • Lenny kravitz (?)

  • Lenny Kravitz?????

  • Yes, I *suppose* that I agree that Rush is just "above average" ;)

  • rush is more that just above average

rush is like a cup of cofee for dale cooper

  • Um, I was being a bit sarcastic as my name would imply that I certainly don't think of them as just "above average" ;) But I like the Dale Cooper bit.. lol

  • Looking at your username

I cant discuss if you`re a rush fan or not :P

    cheers

  • Hey I'm actually a death metal geek, but I like a lot of progressive stuff too, so I thought why not give RUSH a try, so can you recommend like 2 or 3 albums?

  • Every single thing they've ever made is amazing.

But the more popular albums I would say are Moving Pictures and 2112(the A side is one, breathtaking 20+ minute song).

  • I like what dageroth said, but also consider Hemispheres, Farewell to Kings and Fly By night.

Also of honorable mention, Exit stage left.

  • Rush is the best band in this mf World!

    And FF sucks!

  • Yea it's no rush without neil.

  • their first album was without Neil and I love it!

  • yeah rush (the album) was amazing.

But Im still glad that Neil came into the picture (sorry Rutsey RIP) because his amazingly complex lyrics got me thinking again and in three months after i started listening to it i transformed from a D student to a B student.

    Amazing huh? haha

  • Wow, thats cool. I guess I start should playing rush more often in Math :P

  • by tor :D

    2112

    the necromancer

    realy weird and lovely lyrics

  • well the thing is poor neil lost his wife and daughter nearly at the same year making him retire off the band but later he joined back and rush is better than ever I see them everytime

  • long live RUSH!!!!!!!!

  • kudos to the photographer

  • Neil Peart's never enjoyed "living in the limelight". You can probably tell from...well...that song "limelight".

  • No. just plays on the tours. this was a special appearance by geddy and erik to play with Taylor the foo drummer. It was adream of his as it would be ANY drummer on the planet to TRY to step into Neil's shoes.

  • HELL YEA BROTHER

  • NEIL PEART IS MY IDOL!!!

  • haha

he didnt do too bad actually

  • Neil does not just play on the tours, he writes all the lyrics and does the packaging for the product. Who is this guy Erik you refer to , or are you mistaken and meaning Alex , as in Alex Lifeson , the one who has been with the band for 30+ years.....?Neil has never liked interviews and didn't even show up to a meet n greet with a guy who won a radio contest for doing the best Rush drumming impersonation.Vidiot is correct, but I'm not sure where the "V' comes from.....

  • vIDEO iDIOT

  • i believe he lives in L.A.

  • and neil pert?

  • Waoh! It wasn't until the bass solo came in that I went "Hey! this is Working Man!" Guess I wasnt paying attention. Anyways, that had to have been a great show.

  • HOLY FUCK

  • This must be the greatest honor for a drummer, playin' with such gifted musicians!

But both Rush & Foo Fighters kick ass in their own way :-)

  • Canadians, and other parts of the world, love Rush!! Unpretentious, amazing musicians!!!!

  • great video this is what you tube is all about.

  • Holy S@#T! Man they are paying tribute to Rush. Do any of you have the balls to jam with these guys. We all know that Rush is from another dimension. When I listen to Xanadu: they put more work into that one song than most bands put into thier whole careers.

  • No truer words could be spoken! Rush is SO under-rated it sux. It's a sin that their not in the rock and roll hall of fame!!!!!

  • What's-his-name from the foo fighters and nirvana has stated in an interview that "2112 changed my life. . ."

  • dave grohl

  • Chill out dudes. Foo Fighters are huge Rush fans. Perhaps Rush likes Foo Fighters? I'm sure Rush made their teenhood dreams come true by playing live with them. Bottom line is that they were all having a blast on stage...is there anything wrong with that?

  • Nick Raskulinecz has been a long time producer for the Foo Fighters' albums. He also produced Snakes and Arrows for Rush.

Taylor Hawkins and Dave Grohl have always been Rush fans so Nick Raskulinecz organized this little shin-dig for the toronto show.

    Epic.

  • What school has Rush 101? Or are you bullshitting?

  • I was at this show. What an awesome surprise when Geddy and Alex came up on stage! They did YYZ. I wish they had done at least one more song with the Foos...

  • that is so awesome that rush did that, they are the best band bar none

  • It's great....all the Foo Fighter guys are lit up and STOKED!!!

  • That is a weird combination. I fucking love Rush and I like the Foo Fighters, so this is interesting.

  • Man, I thought this whole "Neil's better, Tommy Lee's better, Wackerman's better" all went away back in high school, I enjoy the shit out of all of them, when you get older you realize that music isn't a competition but moreso it is getting together with friends in the fellowship of music, I'm still having a blast playing music at 40 and love hearing my bass playing buddies just blow the roof off the place on my rig, it's so much fun.

  • great comment

  • Amen to that! If the music moves you, the players are great - period. If the music is boring, it doesn't matter how fast they play - check Yngwie as exhibit number one.

  • and most metal bands played on mtv, fast is NOT better

  • Don't dis Dave Grohl too much - he's a pretty great drummer (considering he started as a guitar player!)

  • Dude, he started drums first.

  • Sorry, "Dude", he started on guitar. Check his bio on Wikipedia if you don't believe me.

  • Go anal your wikipedia, it could've been writing by a 4 year old kid. Go watch up on his interviews.

  • Or, it could've been written by someone who knows what they're talking about. I have watched up (and read up) on his interviews, and he started on guitar, and only learned drums when he didn't like his drummer and knew he could do it better. And he did. Anal-yze that.

  • And, by the way, calm down a little - it's only youtube ferchrissakes!

  • WTF is "Getty" Lee? Jeez.

  • SORRY. Geddy, yes. But it's JESUS not Jeez!!!! Thanks.

  • did neil drum on the RUSH album

  • Nah. They had John Rutsey on their debut album. They've had Neil ever since Fly By Night.

  • RIP John Rutsey

  • You know Foo Fighters grew up listening to Rush albums, this must have been such a dream come true to have them join the show! How great that must have been, the Old and the New, two great bands!

  • what song is this

  • The song is "Working Man" off the very first Rush album

  • are you kidding me?

  • did they actually tour together?

  • they actually didn't, rush just joined them for this show

  • Rush is still touring to promote their live album for snakes and arrows, I saw them first and second time =) That would be so intense to go to a combined show with them- Neil Peart would rip off Taylor Hawkin's face, along with dave grohl though.

  • Definitely. Though Taylor Hawkin's is still really good. He's one of the best modern day drummers. Sort of how Alex Lifeson could totally rip apart John Frusciante and Derrick Trucks, but they're the best modern day guitarists.

Luckily, Rush isn't quite gone yet (and Neil Peart is still the best drummer alive). Lets hope that they stay together another 30 years (by then the Rock n' Roll hall of fame will HAVE to let them in)!

  • I'm surprised they aren't in already, they are one of the most consistent bands ever. Alex Lifeson is legendary, and Neil Peart can rip apart ANY stupid death metal piece of crap that has their hands on a double bass pedal. lol. Rush will live forever, and I don't think Neil is slowing down guys =) his last drum solo was the best one yet, and it's only a matter of time before they come out with the next album.

  • Well, I'm really just pissed off that they got passed by for Van Halen. Sure, Van Halen is great, but they just can't compare to something as legendary as Rush! I mean, Geddy can play and sing circles around the singer/bass players for Van Halen (I don't like them enough to know their names) at the same time! Alex and Eddie would be close, but Alex is technically better. Personally, I think Eddie's over rated.

Then Neil Peart is just the best rock drummer ever. There's no contest.

  • Alex is eddies' equal Van Halen is all around talented too. Geddy is better and neil is better, plain and simple. I like both groups, and Rush has far better sings and way more of them. I wouldn't knock Eddie Van Halen, he is a very talented musician and if it were in technical skill and not creativity he would take the cake over alex and many others. Alex wins because of his uniqueness. But Van Halen draws a bigger audience, that's why he got the gig.

  • I'm not saying that Eddie's not good, but Alex completely wins. Eddie's thing is shredding and blues, though he'd get lost on things like funk, jazz etc. Alex can do that really really well, but he can also do everything else equally well. Plus, I think his solos also have much more substance.

Again, I'm not dissing Van Halen. They're talented, just not on the level of Rush.

  • I don't idolize van halen, don't worry be honest. I like Rush a lot better that's not the issue. Van Halen is a bit overrated but in TECHNICAL skill he beats out alex. Lifeson is a very tasteful guitarist and in my opinion both are equal, van halen for speed and lifeson for tone. both are on my list of guitar legends.

  • We obviously have different interpretations of technical (as it can be used in several ways). By my definition of the word, Alex Lifeson is the most technical guitar player around and Eddie Van Halen doesn't even come close to comparing.

  • What with the Caps Lock? Got quite a mouth for a 8 year old.

  • the fact that you would dare talk about rush that way or foo fighters offends me. All rush haters burn in hell

  • Is that a vapor trails tour shirt taylor is wearing?

  • No it's Quadrophenia.

  • nop

  • awesome soo good, dream line up with tay on drums

  • nice comp
