And we actually have something in common if what you say is true, for I am also a small business owner (only 4 employees) and a homeowner and a parent. I pay HUGE dollar amounts for insurance -- way more than the national average, I guess -- but I wouldn't give up ANY of my freedoms to have so-called free healthcare.

Private insurance companies make money by SATISFYING patients, so that they VOLUNTARILY continue to do business with the company. A "pre-existing condition" is a known risk that absolutely warrants a higher premium. And if the tyrannical government does not allow premiums to rise like they should, then it is moral to drop the coverage. It would be immoral to keep covering someone for a lower premium and shift the cost to those who were responsible enough to remain well.

like at all? that's exactly how private healthcare works you moron. money is taken from every paying member and collectively pooled, some going towards healthcare for purchasers of the policy if needed, some goes towards paying salaries for workers and for infrastructure, and (in the case of wasteful private insurance) towards profit, and maximizing profit is their goal, so they deny coverage left and right for arbitrary reasons.
And the private insurer should have every right to charge a higher premium for someone with a "pre-existing condition". When the government tyrannically infringes on this right, the insurance plan cannot charge a high enough premium commensurate with the risk. This is why a person is dropped. It is the fault of the government; not the fault of the insurer.
Private insurance is not wasteful. And it does not drop people for arbitrary reasons. It makes profits by SATISFYING patients.
Right, it drops them because it can't make money off of actual sick people, so it lets them die and everybody is happy! Well, the investors are and that's what really counts - making investors happy at any cost.

I do have a Bachelor's degree as well and my full time job is at Microsoft as a contractor, as a contractor if I was to pay for my insurance it would cost me around 5hundred a month. I can't afford that, that is why I have a part time business on the side just to make ends meet. I never heard any complaints from people on medicare, if it works for them then I'm all for it.

Private insurance companies make money by SATISFYING patients, so that they VOLUNTARILY continue to do business with the company. A "pre-existing condition" is a known risk that absolutely warrants a higher premium. And if the tyrannical government does not allow premiums to rise like they should, then it is moral to drop the coverage. It would be immoral to keep covering someone for a lower premium and shift the cost to those who were responsible enough to remain well.

oh gee wise and benevolent private insurance, I'm so sorry for having a genetic disorder that cannot be prevented by any means. It's totally my fault. Feel free to deny coverage because I would be a financial burden on your other customers due to my impossible to prevent disease. I'll just sit here and die because I can't afford my medication or treatment.

like at all? that's exactly how private healthcare works you moron. money is taken from every paying member and collectively pooled, some going towards healthcare for purchasers of the policy if needed, some goes towards paying salaries for workers and for infrastructure, and (in the case of wasteful private insurance) towards profit, and maximizing profit is their goal, so they deny coverage left and right for arbitrary reasons.

And the private insurer should have every right to charge a higher premium for someone with a "pre-existing condition". When the government tyrannically infringes on this right, the insurance plan cannot charge a high enough premium commensurate with the risk. This is why a person is dropped. It is the fault of the government; not the fault of the insurer.
Private insurance is not wasteful. And it does not drop people for arbitrary reasons. It makes profits by SATISFYING patients.

Proof you know nothing about insurance. There's no such thing as someone being insurable... if (and only if) the insurers are allowed to charge a reasonable premium. But the intrusive government stops the insurers from charging a reasonable premium... to score political points with simpletons who don't understand insurance like yourself. What is important is respecting freedom. Private insurance is always superior... and government intrusion is always inferior.
Learn some economics.

Healthcare is not free, therefore it is not a right. To claim that healthcare is a "right" is to claim the right to STEAL from someone else in order to pay for your healthcare. So it is evil to claim that healthcare is a right; it is moral to recognize that such a claim is utterly foolish and indeed an unwarranted act of violence against the person whom you would advocate STEALING from.
