Get your cell, attach rechargable batteries in series with a blocker diode, then attach your light in series. I personally like the led christmas lights that change coler. they are fun to play with.
Depends, AC lights defiantly will not work. Besides the (V)oltage, you must consider the current (A)mpres. Easy to figure out : A=V/W where as W = Watts . I have solar power for my home that I installed myself. Also hold an Extra Class Amateur Radio License. You can use solar cells to charge a (LI) battery and run a flashlight bulb off of that.
I know ALOT of stuff about electronics!!!!, If you have any questions about electronics, Please ask me!!!!, you can send me a message on youtube or send me an email, @ bran_-_13@live.com
VOLTAGE IS PRESSURE, CURRENT IS FLOW, POWER IS VOLTAGE TIMES CURRENT, OR PRESSURE TIMES FLOW. CURRENT IS LIMITED BY RESISTANCE. VOLTAGE DIVIDED BY THE RESISTANCE EQUALS CURRENT. SO IF THE PRESSURE IS NOT HIGH ENOUGH TO FORCE ENOUGH CURRENT THROUGH THE RESISTANCE OF THE WIRE FILIMENT OF THE BULB, THE LIGHT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER. RADIO SHACK HAS .5 VOLT LIGHTS IN THE PARTS DRAWERS WHERE YOU GET TRANSISTORS AND STUFF. GET THE LOWEST WATTAGE LOWEST VOLTAGE BULB YOU CAN GET.
several .55V and .3A is not enough to power it, however for some reason it can power that small motor but barely. hook them up in series (3 of them should do) you will have 1.65 V you might be able to drive a low powered LED. you may also try to make an array with some in series and some in parallel. and see what that gets you
what you can do is hook up multiple solar cells in paralell or in series. so to do it in series you connect the posotive terminal of one cell to the negative and so on until you have the power that you want. so then have wire from the negative from the cell on one end and on the other the posotive.
You have to look on YouTube for a circuit that can charge batteries or cellphones (the batteries inside them). You have to check the voltage needed to charge the phone, look on the transformer, the current needed/used is usually there also. You can buy solar battery chargers pretty cheap at some places like here at dealextreme: dealextreme com/search.dx/search.solar%20charger#1101
For homemade, to begin, you will need a digital multimeter since they are cheap at Harbor Freight -- about 3 bux only. Measure the voltages from the cells in series and see if you have enough voltage. Put them under flat glass to protect them when done.
Typically , the only components/parts needed for a basic solar charger is the solar cells and a small diode. The diode only allows current to go one way, so it will then prevent the batteries from draining through the solar panel when it is dark out.
It can be done, just like your powering that motor, but it must be done on a more larger scale to make more voltage and current. At about 2 or 3 volts and with enougth sun and then electric current you can probably charge a 1.5 volt battery and/or make a led light bulp light up. A common Christmas bulb probably might take 12V or 120V. To make more voltage with solar cells, connect them in series pos. to neg to pos. to neg and so on like batteries are. Look for simple circuits designs.

apparently everyone who comments is a genius.

Not enough voltage. Try hooking it up to a joule thief and that should work. If u dunno what a joule thief is look it up on u tube

Lol, your light wont work because you try it at night ;)

You want to power a lightbulb... With solar power? WHAT?! That doesn't even make sense...

check out my attempt at something solar powered that spins... ''solar powered revolving VW campervans model'' leave a comment.

not enuff power , pretty simple --need an array of them

u can do it in 2 ways:
1st
this solar cell provides at most sun expose .5v dc voltage so u will need couple of them conected in series or
2nd
u can use operational amplyfier but that way u r going to need external power suply ... so i don't know if it is a smart solution...!?

Many of those "garden lamps" that are led, can charge a AA battery or two.
