  • the war is the worst thing in all world.

  • *just asking

  • @TheDrakerdog not any more had a 17 month deployment from 2006-2007 and a 12 month deployment from 2008-2009 and I have seen some of the worst areas of Afghanistan and some pretty intence fire fights, however I also study history and I have trouble calling it a war when america lost more men in a half hour at Antetam than we have in the entire Afghan war, I would call it a police action if I hade to give it a label

  • @wild50gunner

ok. but the vietnam war was the bloodiest war to america.

  • @TheDrakerdog exept for world war 1(116,000 dead) world war 2(407,000 dead) and the Civil War(623,000 dead) and while it beats the Korean war in total casualties Korea beats it in intensity (vietnam 58,000 in 9 years Korea 37,000 in 3)

  • you are in Afghanistan jus asking because you´re saying "im protecting you"...

  • i know my english is not to good. In vietnam you dont know were is the enemy and etc... On Afghanistan war they have support like... i dont know im not there but they have more facility to find some targets just that.

  • i say it because on vietnam time they doesnt have any computer, radar to find the enemy the americans now have all of that stuff.Better weapons, every thing, airsupport.... the americans on vietnam dont have the airsupport all time and they can have

  • the vietnam war was the most insane and dangerous.Afghanistan war is the 2nd most insane war to america

  • hell to the no vietnam had thousands and thousands and thousands of casualties it was bloodier and more messed up put it this way this was didnt call for a mandatory draft like nam did no military officails were sending young men or women notices that they had to go

  • LOL aghanistan isnt a war

  • @wild50gunner

they are protecting you, you big idiot

  • @TheDrakerdog actually I was protecting you

also as for your other comments ( I have some difficulty understanding them your english is not great) I would like to point out what all technologies we have in Afghanistan that we did not have in vietnam (or somthing similar) and also we don't get shit for air support in Afghanistan compared to Vietnam

  • Soviets had 1 MILLION soldiers in afghanistan and.... they ran out out of there once they got a feel of things. They were technologically superior compared to the insurgents blah blah blah... they lost. It's about making a profit I guess.

  • @vmorgun the soviets also basicaly wiped out the afghan Mujahadeen in the first 2 years the only thin that kept the war going was a contant stream of foreign fighters, weapons and money from the US and Saudies.

also the soviets had more soldiers taken out of the fight by disintary than enemy fire

    just food for thought

  • Who cares if this war is or is not longer than Vietnam, either way it's a war we're currently dealing with.

And if you ask me, there is no sure evidence that Osama Bin Laden is dead or alive. After Dec. 2001 when the U.S. struck an insurgent hole in the mountains with a bomber, the CIA has or had a pretty tough time since then tracking Bin Laden IF he was or still is alive.

However, evidence points out that he's most likely dead, and therefore we should leave... for now.

  • Beacause VN have a good brain ...

    So short War ...

  • U.S GO HOME!

  • This it's totally false because US lost the Vietnam's War and took more years.

  • Diplomacy is a better way of peace then war, USA's number one mistake. They live by the sword, and you know how the saying goes...

  • War is Good, for the Americcan economy and all those puffed up Pentagon generals who want another shiny star, but especially good, double good for that one who wants to be president!

Why buy the oil and NG when you can just steal it?

  • @LeseMajeste Good for the blinded, greedy, bloated consumer? or the dying men women and children.

  • hopefully more US soldiers will die in Afghanistan !

  • Why are we in Afghanistan?

Because it is next door to Russia & China.

We want to control that real estate.

To stop the war, we must first build a socialist government in the USA.

    A United Socialist America.

    Youtube: paul8kangas

  • @paul8kangas Or close to Israel? In the end undeniably everyone will turn against Israel.

  • The War Profiteers don't want the 'war' to end. They are making a killing. No pun intended. Wait, actually, Pun Intended.

  • Many don't trust the government to take care of our health..

They say government is to incompetent, that they don't trust politicians..

But when it comes to war, somehow politicians are infallible men of god..

  • Anybody want 9 more years over there? Well cut the crap and let's end this thing!!!

  • u will leave Afghanistan them Taliban have balls and they dnt brake them for nobody

  • One well placed nuke would have done it.

    .

    Game changer? No. Game over.

  • @the82spartans But a nuke wouldn't help. They don't want to "kill" they want to change the government. And what good would a new government be if it had a nuclear blast zone as it's country? The funny thing is that American soldiers are terrorists by definition. They are using force....to influence a foreign government. Check a dictionary....that's what terrorism is.

  • @13mordeth -- Well, to say a nuke 'wouldn't help' is like saying the 9/11 wouldn't have happend if Clinton lost to GHW Bush. Can't prove it at all. Still, it would have been less cost to hit Torra Borra back in '05 with one nuke.

Now, what's this tripe about Americans are terrorists, by 'definition'?

'The use of force or threats to demoralize, intimidate, and subjugate, esp. such use as a political weapon or policy.' Or? See 'Taliban'.

  • The US is not an invader or conqueror, esp. in Afghanistan. The Soviets however, were. That is the biggest difference between terrorists we are fighting now and what the Mudja-hudeen had been then. They want to suppress and be like the Soviets, but instead of the ideals of Marxism, it is religious or sharia law instead. BTW; They DO want to kill. Its what they do.

  • This is a "forever" war. It will never end.

thanks in large part to President Obama, who is perpetuating it.

  • @shellius Its the agenda behind Obama, Obama is just a figure head, the real politics happens behind closed doors when it comes to foriegn policy.

  • Just like Vietnam, there is plenty good money to be made...

Perpetual war is the governments intention!!! Strategically it is the east flank of the main oil source of the world, also oil to the north. Controlling the opium poppies is another incentive that parallels Vietnam. These are sad facts....

  • Neither the British nor the Soviets could win in Afghanistan and neither will we.

Both countries lost their empires and so will we.

It is way past time for Obama to admit what Bush did not - we went to war to secure an oil pipeline. Don't forget that before 9/11 Bush entertained Taliban officials telling them that they could have a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs if they secured the pipeline for American oil interests.

We need to get out of Afghanistan NOW!

  • Thanks BNF for another thought-provoking short. Bush let Osama go and that's the end of it. Let's get out. If the danger is "losing" Afghanistan which is so close to Pakistan, which has nukes - which I find interesting because that reason for the war wasn't brought up before the war - then the world community should help. Otherwise, let's get the troops out. They deserve better.

  • Worse than Vietnam? Make this film again once 57,151 more Americans and another ~3,000,000 Iraqis lose their lives.

To suggest that the current war in Afghanistan is worse than Vietnam does a disservice to American soldiers who served both now and then. I hate the war as much as anyone else, but stop trying to get attention through blatantly and provably false information.

  • @SarcasticPirate -- 5*'s Very good comment.

  • @SarcasticPirate Did you pay attention? "Worse" doesn't always mean how many people die, USA is 13 trillion dollars in debt, probably more. As well worse could also mean it's harder to win.

  • @SarcasticPirate Its still a real shitty war that we have got to get out of. It is going to bankrupt the nation.

  • @SarcasticPirate You were being sarcastic when you said Iraqis right?

  • "The cost to U.S. taxpayers of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2001 has topped $1 trillion"

I think that makes pretty clear a major, if not the only, reason you're still there, "fighting the good fight".

  • The initial Afghanistan engagement was planned to last a min of 30yrs the total whole middle east engagement campaign is planned to last 100 yrs. That has become apparent from reading and watching multiple Governments and Military policies and practice from before 2000 till now.

Engagement is a two prong approach Security and Governmental, this type of invasion methodology will take a long time to become entrenched into future generations in the middle east. "That's Democracy?" western style.

  • If we lived in a real democracy, how could the fact that the gov. is expanding the LONGEST war in its history would be continuous, front page news.

    Thanks, BRAVENEWFOUNDATION for genuine patriotism.

  • i wondr when we are going to leave the war

  • I thought we went into Afghanistan to get Osama bin Laden. If we haven’t got him by now, it time to leave.

  • @OhioDemocrat , TO GET OSAMA BINLADEN? give ur head a shake, Look on FBI website and look at the reasons Osama is on there, Nothing about 911. Face the truth please people, The politicians are OWNED, (not by the people) Please WAKE UP.

  • It's clear that Congress needs to act now, as Obama doesn't seem interested in ending this war, for whatever reason. Hell, I'm not even American, but can understand what the waste means to the US economy. In a time when recession has yet to recover, oil gushes into the Gulf, and this war wages--along with continued troubles in Iraq, it is time for Congress to stem the flow of funds to this senseless war.

  • god damn it I'm trying to eat!

  • @oldhacks So where over 10,000 afghan civilians when their asses got fraged. Only the problem was trying to find food for them. That does include taliban murders but at least 5000 of those where coalition forces murders.

  • @TheCaptainLulz whats that got to do with pasta?

  • @oldhacks Just trying, and failing, at a guilt trip. I just see far too many comments on war footage that attempt to make light of people dying. Id imagine you where joking so... I hope it was good pasta.

  • @TheCaptainLulz it was until this popped up in my sub box. :/ then it started to look like a pile of dead bodies.

  • @TheCaptainLulz but yea. elsbergh. true american hero
