Oh yeah the sweet rides are beautiful, I play that one for jazz and it works great, you get the crash of a 20, but get some ping from a 22, a great one :D
i have a 18" zildjian zbt crash ride and its got a really good crash but it has a bit of a wierd ride sound but for the music i do and the style i have i love it !
If you haven't already. Try Dream cymbals. They are awesome. Sound great and don't cost much. A dream ride, preferrably a little bigish, going over the 20" mark at least, will give you a washy, dark crash sound, almost gongy. If you're into that kind of thing. Which I am. At least that sound I mentioned can be achieved with my 24" Dream flat ride.
ive got the same drum set-up, so i can play open handed. the differences are that ive got my ride on my left with my hi hat, have 2 crashes, one on each side, a spalsh in the middle, a china on the right and thats it. i need money.
its a pretty good starting one i have one but i changed all the heads and also got some new cymbals for christmas.... only down it the cymbals on there are trash
nice set, how long have you been drumming and collecting cymbals for, i only have 1 crash and i don't even know what make it is, and a king ride cymbal.
thats how i have my drums set up too. 14 inch floor tom to the left, 12 inch rack tom above my snare and 16 inch floor to the right. it makes it very symmetrical and you can play ghosts on the floor to the left
thats a sexy ride man, nice, i just set my drums up a new way too, whenever i put them up i put em up diferently and each time i seem to like it more than the last
dude its awesome that youre back lol and if youre looking for a great ride thats also a good crash, maybe you should check out the 20" sabian xs20 medium ride, and itll save you a bunch of money too. It just came out in brilliant finish about a month ago too, and, while the one i have isnt brilliant finish, i think it sounds great. Cant wait to see more of your vids man
If the two floor toms on either side don't work out another rack tom on the left of the one you have is something I've done in the past with my kit and it works out pretty good.
The sweet ride is pretty good but I found it too dry, but I heard it in a natural finish so maybe brilliant would be better. Maybe you should look into the Zildjian A Custom Projection Ride, I've heard it's pretty crashable. I'm using a Sabian AAX Stage Ride and it's pretty nice.
Hey man, looks great, except im not to sure about the floor toms on different sides, ive only been playing 18 months and still alot to learn, but from what ive picked up is that toms are better off(for me that is) to be in a line, 2 on your kit, and floors right of it, but yeah, i cant wait to see how you play on them, and to see how you change your technique to fit the very new and different style, Keep it up.
You look and sound so stoned dude xD

I had a Sabian AAX 21" Stage Ride a year ago that was pretty good for crashing and had a good ping as well
However, I personally am not big on crrashing on rides, so I got rid of that and got the Sabian HH 22" Rock Ride.

Nice drumkit bro,
I'll think with the floor tom on your left, you can also work allot on lefthanded techniques.
Just enjoy it,
and opinion, drum at 2am :p
Other ride, 22" Zildjian light ride,
Fyfe ewing used it with therapy both as ride/crash sounded fucking amazing!
