@k9henrydog Well in my Channel info I wrote who it is lol! British historian Dr. David Starkey through his research has identified the sitter in both portraits (my BG and my avatar/icon) as the tragic 9 days Queen-Lady Jane Grey (Dudley).
@faeryquene In addition to competing in figure skating, Holovsky also participated in speed skating and in 1932 set the Austrian record for ladies in the 500 meters.
Holovsky died suddenly of appendicitis in July, 1933.
@HattieLovesCattie Wow-it's amazing to me. Speed skating and figure skating-two entirely different sports and to succeed in both! She was a great athlete in her day. :)
I love learning the history of the sport.
So sad. RIP litte girl. :(
