  • wow! Great work! Those are some funky pictures! Kind of look like particle collisions!

  • nice experiment, I liked it. I gonna do with my hi-school students.

  • good job girls ;)

  • Actually the curves were formed by cetrifugal force due to the rotation of the potters wheel.

if you spin the potters wheel counterclockwise the curves will be in the opposite direction... to the left... there is a coriolis force to the right in the northern hemisphere but it is so slight it is imperceptible in your experiment....

however this is a great video and can be used to simulate the coriolis effect

  • Wait a sec... The coriolis effect we are

refering to is not that produced by the coriolis force due to the earth rotation, but

the coriolis effect due to the rotation of the wheel (table), for the scale of the

pendulum's movement this coriolis force is notisable and make it deviate to the

diraction opposite to the turnning of the table... It is like a miniaturized Foucault pendulum, and works under the same principle.

Please read a bit more before bullshiting our scientific experiment!

  • lol, losers

  • I never thought coriolis force would be so... awesome! And I applaude your music choice!
