it revolutionary because the left hand is doing the running on the keys while the right is doing the cords. Chopin effectivly reversed hands to try a new technique. that and the fact of when this was written his native Poland was under attack.

I'll reply in english because everybody else has but I like it. Although I have heard it at a faster pace as well. My piano instructor actually plays it at a much faster rate..................... kind of scary.

I really like your interpretation, but I don't agree that it should be faster. I think of this is a noble and heroic piece, not a whirlwind of sound. I do agree though, that MORE POWER is needed!

She plays better than so many of the men here because the left hand is not crashing away too loud . It is a murmuring agitaion and that lets the right hand notes dominate.

So-so. This song is tough to play, but I think she could've picked up the tempo and kind of "overdramatized" it... there's too much of the slowing down thing going on, in my opinion...

I think its a 4/5 honestly. It's definitely not as fast as the standard, but its okay to deviate off the standard sometimes. Yundi li and and Evgeny Kissin both go faster or slower than the norm on many performances and it turns out great. Though its not perfect, fast isnt always good.

I agree... This was written to response to Polish revolution in XIXth century. It's about fierce fight of very young patriots for Poland's independence with overwhelming enemy forces. This is a fierce and ruthless battle of patriots heart. Keep that in mind. Imagine yourself in the middle of fight and than play... Keep it on!
