  • *Generation=government in my last post

  • I'm going to Ann Arbor tomorrow for the Michigan spring football game. Ann Arbor obviously being the city this benefit show was held in. Ann Arbor is an amazing city, but there's not as much activism going on there anymore, just a lot of intellectual robots, which coincides with exactly what the government wants my government to feel like... powerless and emotionless.

    May He Rest In Peace

  • so amazing how strong and powerful John Lennon's music was

  • LENNOOOOOOOOON

    GREAAAAT :D

    THE BESSST ^^

  • You can still see John Sinclair around town in Detroit (or Amsterdam--he spends a lot of time there, not surprisingly). I used to run into him once in a while when I lived there. Still a radical old dude.

  • 15 gottas

  • great song

  • see: Os Velhos da Montanha

  • "If anything happens to me or Yoko, it's not an accident." - John Lennon

  • @xDisturbedDemon iluminati?

  • I love this song but John Sinclair was a true asshole. When he got out of jail he turned around and sued Lennon because he didn't get a cut of the proceeds from the concert that was held on his own behalf. I'm getting my info from the book Lennon In America 1971-1980, Based In Part On The Lost Lennon Diaries by Geoffrey Giuliano.

  • @MrsGuevara that book is suspect. The author pulled his "facts" from an unpublished source that he claims was a journal by Lennon given to him by singer who happened to have died before he published it. Real credible source.

  • @MrsGuevara

as far as I know by an interview few weeks before beeing shot dead...John asked a dear friend to give his first son Julian the copy of his journal..nonetheless..Yoko refused and didn't respect John's will..

nobody still doesn't know where john's diaries could be..

  • @ChiaraMichela A manwho worked for John and Yoko before he died, had the journals and diaries. From there he wrote of Lennon's thoughts on his exile for 5 years in the Dakota. Pretty great book. It's called Nowhere Man by Anthony Seaman i believe. Not hard to find. I highly recommend it.

  • @RubHerSoul1

Thanks a lot for your suggestions....^_^

    have a great week end....

  • as fun as conspiracy theories are, if the cia wanted to kill him they wouldve done it much earlier. in 1980 they had no reason to. he was 40, not starting revolutions but rather living the life of a house husband and spending time w sean. hardly a threat to order and convention... as far as the reagan comment is concerned, reagan was elected in 1980, sworn in in 1981 so thats irrelevant

  • John Lennon in in hell......

  • @efravi25 screw off troll

  • We got to got to got to got to set him freeeee

  • just blazed a joint wit John Sinclair this weekend!! Ultra dood!

  • I always thought it was weird that happened in 1980, right when Reagan got in office.

  • "They would have killed him in 1968 or 1972 "

Maybe they could, but it would not have been possible to cover it up. Chapman was the perfect cover for them. Brainwash this guy, use hypnosis, fill him with drugs and brainwash him to perform the task at hand. Its in the freakin CIA manual for christ sakes. They could do it if they wanted to. Do you honestly think the people in the CIA are fucking stupid and don't know how to cover their tracks. Yes they were involved i am sure of it.

  • awsome

  • I counted 15 or 16 "gotta"s XD lol i first heard this song on The US vs John Lennon- an EPICALLY AWESOME movie!!

  • The CIA was responsible for John Lennon's assassination. Mark David Chapman was brainwashed and programmed by the CIA to kill Lennon.

Don't be fooled into believing otherwise!

  • You are a complete fool if you believe that. They woule have killed him in 1968 or 1972 if they were so inclined when they were stupidly believing he would disrupt the political conventions of those years. They didn't know he was a limousine liberal until later after that period was over. What in the world would be the reason to kill a househusband in 1980 after the conventions and election that year? You are dilusional and there is no evidence to back up what you say.

  • No truth in your statement. Wake up!

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone know if this song was ever on an album? and if so what one???

  • This song was on the 1972 album called Some Time in New York City.

  • the biggest life took by the CIA (And they took a few you know)

  • @capitancriterio do you think they took bruce lee and hendrix too?

  • Hoover moved on John, just like he moved on Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers...etc. Each breath from John was a political move and not to be tolerated. Some folks have had to go "underground" for decades. There was no underground for John to run to, no "laying low". He was a sitting duck, it was very sad. He should have run back to England, he's still be alive. But as one of the Smothers Brothers so aptly put it, he was naive about American politics.

  • maybe he had more faith in people than you did, maybe he thought peace was possible, and maybe he KNEW that a violent death would only immortalize his point...

  • "maybe he had more faith in people than you did, maybe he thought peace was possible"

I don't know what this has to do with my comment but you're wrong.

OK, John wanted to live, having his phones tapped and being fallowed made him more than a little nervous. It's not a good sign when they've got to plant dope on you and then ask you to leave a country. He fought it and won that battle but lost his life.

Read more about it at your local library.

  • im not saying he didnt want to live, but he wasnt going to leave the place he loved (new york) just because of people like that, and fyi ive read one biography on the man and watched a couple documentaries.

  • Well then, you know just how frightened he was. And, you also know that there were many things that both John and Yoko declined to do for fear of the repercussions and how much John valued his life.

  • i thought he only got busted in england

  • @WhitneyGetz so so true sad thing is, to them it was just buisiness ,

  • @daddyseek67

Those that brought down such a hideous order are in the business of thought control, and god help you if you challenge their structure. "John was very naive...".

  • @WhitneyGetz its the devil, haha the devil cant control my mind, all you need is love love is the answer haha, say the word and youll be free, hasnt anyone heard the word is love, the bible says GOD IS LOVE o ya haha they also called jesus THE WORD

  • yea i have it too but i want glass onion and sexy sady i dont find them

  • Does anybody know where I can download this song for free (can't find it on limewire or frostwire) and/or buy this album anywhere? Thx.

  • Do you have msn messenger? I will quite happily send it to you through that, I have both live and studio versions.

  • Why are the musician's who could do this stuff now so affraid, wake up people!!

  • Thats exactly what I'm saying.

  • There just victims of the in house drive by we say jump you say how high. There all brain dead they got a f^#kin bullet in there head!! RATM

  • Sold their souls for the fame and money

  • balless, soulless, spiritless, corporate little bitches. Suckers of Satan's cock each and every one of them! -- Bill Hicks

  • @MjasonD70 People don't WANT to wake up, so they won't. The media/celebrities/politicians are ALL paid to keep people distracted. The people like John who speak truth, get murdered, framed, blackmailed, suicided. One day soon things are gonna change. Just keep the love in your heart no matter what. I remember the good times in my soul. We are infinite and some of us know we've been on Earth for a long time. My body may be 21 but I know me soul is forever. People have forgotten who they are. <3

  • Nothing at all better than John Leenon.

    Best line in any song

"If he'd been a soldier man

    Shooting gooks in Vietnam"

  • Exactly what I thought, man. John Lennon was so simplistic in his songwriting about each specific situation that every song became so blatantly deep; what brilliance!

  • great song by John and Yoko, about another John (Sinclair)who was and still is a great advocate for progressive social change, peace, and freedom.

This performance took place in Ann Arbor at Crisler Arena, the U of Michigan's basketball arena. I have been there many times for games and often wonder what it must have been like to have been at the Free John Sinclair rally.

  • seriously, why is this woman everywhere he goes, it's retarded.

  • that was his wife

  • John felt a ten-year jail sentence for passing two joints to an undercover agent was savage, remembering his own marijuana conviction in England. Within three days of the protest song being played first at a pro-Sinclair rally 10 Dec 1971 the authoritites had released John Sinclair only 27 months into the sentence. Cool story and thanks for posting the vid!

  • thanks, I got some interesting stuff about Johns music, in a video biography. This really stood out.

  • @preistguy Was the video called the "U.S. vs john lennon"?

  • @nzlennonfan that's still criminal though! over 2 years for fucx sake. great song by the way

  • @nzlennonfan a friend of mine was down south in about 1971. He got a year in prison for having a roach on him
