@dst4952: thanks for the feedback. I was in Bann in late Sept of this year and the comm site is still there. While the village probably hasn't changed much from your time there, Ramstein has. It now has an American style mall, hotel, housing, etc.
I was in the USAF at the Bann "A" HF 604th Comm Radio site 1957-1958 and again at the Bann M/W site 1965-1968 as a Tech Controller with the 2134th Comm Sqdn. Spent some great times in Bann for long lunches drinking Park Brau and eating great food. Lived on Ramstein AB. 3 Tours in Germany, Darmstadt 1949-1952, 55-57 and Ramstein/Bann 1957-1958 and 1965-1968. Best of all my overseas assignments.
Bann has changed in a very large way from when I visited in 1966. I was staying at my 2nd cousin's home (Irene Sehi). She would not allow me to go out in a pair of Bermuda shorts and a loose fitting blouse. The shorts came to my knees. Back then I NEVER saw any women or girls wearing anything but skirts or dresses. No one at all wore blue jeans and tennis shoes. It was a very different time from these pics here.
I served in the USAF at Bann Microwave Station (top of the mountain) from 1969 until 1972. Several of our staff lived in the village. It has changed a little but not a lot. Maybe somebody else who served at the same time will see this.
I lived on Schulstrasse which was just a couple of streets on the right as you came into the village from Landsthul. I lived across the street from and very near tothe elementary school. Really loved the place.

@NPNFrog. Bann is a wonderful village. Probably hasn't changed much since you left in 75. We used to live on Kniebrechtstrasse which was one block from the church. Do you remember which street was yours?
