  • I like Roditi plays here. :D

  • Happy Birthday Dizzy Gillespie (October 21) RIP

  • thank you for sharing.

    best wishes

  • 3:47 WTF?!?!?!

  • Where can I get me some unpolished brass like Roditi's?

  • damn my eardrums popped at the end wit Artuto

  • You can find it on ebay... DVD region USA

  • Bravo!

  • I think that Claudio Roditi is better overall. Sure, Arturo has the range, but Roditi has much better phrasing and improv abilities. His features sound so much better than Arturo's. You might not have your mouth wide open because Arturo is busting his lip, but the musicality is stupendous.

  • @ammuine

that's why you probably have both in the band. I'm playing bigband-lead-trumpet and my 2nd trumpeter is probably, no definitly technically and improskill better than i am. But he can't reach the screaming heigth that i do and doesn't have the (musical) ego, necessary to lead even through rumbling, unsecure passages. BUT we respect each others profession. Which is why the matter of fact sharing of "jobs" is just perfect, like in this awesome band!

  • Just bought this DVD... for almost nothing... :)

  • Hi, where can one buy the DVD please? Thanks, N.

  • What pieces is Arturo playing with his high trumpet and in whitch key is this trumpet?

  • @schnieef Its a piccolo trumpet, and from the way the lead pipe was on there I think it might of been in the key of A(those trumpets have leads pipes that are pitched in Bb but can be extended down to A) and he is playing the Prince of Denmark's March

  • what song did dizzy start to play on his solo

  • como de que año sera este concierto?

  • James Moody and Claudio Roditi blow my mind hear. Everytime I hear this, I just go "wow".

  • Arturo is the best trumpet in the world!!! He is the king

  • LoL @ Dizzy in the background.

  • Amazing

  • SO AWESOME

  • KING ARTURO SANTOVAL

  • omg!! this is so AWESOME!!!!!!!! the last guy!! i wish i could play like that!!! wow!!!!!!

  • thank you SO much for that.

    you're fantastic.

    they're fantastic.

    everything is lovely.

  • Thank you so much for posting the series. Loved Arturo's C-trumpet skit, not to mention the phenominal end. Is there any way to divide this by songs as oppossed to the 10 part segments you've got going now? Love it anyway, and keep up the great work Joshie

  • esta de poca madre arturo, dizzy y claudio esa si es musica no chingaderas

  • sandoval is a king

  • good job man

  • I love hoe Dizzy reacts to the trumpet solo!

  • This definitly one the best group of musicians that was put together!! To see this now, I wish I was there in person to have experienced it live!!

  • q bello!!! simplemente bello

  • you did the best job posting this. amazing. BACH?

  • arturo sandoval and he's cuban. Geeze lol

  • Man! I love Dizzy, what a wonderful person, musician, and role model! Each time I hear him, I am inspired all over again

  • I loved it. I just wished the cut between videos didn't split up the bass solo.

  • I think his solo is good, but why does Claudio continue to do the half-valving? It actually starts to get annoying.

  • he is mking the trumpet sound as if it was a "cueca" a brazilian instrument

  • I have had this CD for the longest and I am happy to see the actual video I have watched all ten and played along on me knee to all of them(the licks hehehehe).

  • man, claudio takes the cake in this one... he is an awesome

  • There are many great players in that auditorium. However, Arturo Sandova takes the cake. His whistle register is unmatched by anyone, even today. To stay somewhat in tune with that kind of power while still reaching the upper register is ridiculous. Dizzy was a great composer and player. But Sandoval range, technique, & unmatched upper register are what make him untouchable. Also, Paquito is an improv genius. Dizzy did a great job in putting this together.

  • @happyfacehomes Hi I think Sandova is fantastic you like who you like. I think diz was 72 yrs. of age.I wonder have you heard of a guy named Roy Ekdridge? Howard Mcgee? Who about Louis Armstrong?

  • estuvo muy padre ese concierto, Sandoval quiere mucho a dizzy y eso es tierno.

  • How can one person play so high on the trumpet?

  • increible !!!!!

caludio roditi soprprendente,,,,,su improvisacion la forma de expresarse con el instrumento!!!!

    sandoval,,,agudos y una digitacion espectacular

grande dizzy 100pre seras el maestro del latinjazz,,,,

  • Ron Jeremy on Trumpet!

  • Dizzy!!! why you are not still alive? I love to hear to more music from you. You are the only person to which I like to hear...

  • James Moody is one who can show that he`s a good human being through his playing. That`s unique ! Just watch the facial expressions on his fellowmmen throughout his solo. Also 10 points to the filming crew here

  • Thank you captain, gotta love Claudio and all of those guys. Makes me want to cry, all that sick soloing.

  • yeah they're the best
