People that make the food be photo ready, They'd cook a patty for maybe 60 secs or less, so it wont shrink... give it grill lines, and paint it a bit. then put cardboard onto the buns so it wont get soggy. and the rest get pinned down, oh, and sometimes, the dressers have to GLUE sesame seeds onto buns. So no, It doesnt look like crap because you're rushing.

Everything in the food changed over the years. From the prep, to the quality of food. Its amazing to say, but I actually think going back to the large heat rack, with prepped food may actually help things.
I can't say that I have actually had an Arby's Beef & Cheddar look anything like that. The person must live near a ghetto Arby's, lol. But this kinda thing happens everywhere. Like say with a christmas tree. The box shows the limbs perfectly extended without a single flaw, yet it is nigh impossible to get it to look that way. Some things just have to be exaggerated to sell. And of course it looks gross when you have the flash of the camera creating a big reflection on cheese. Looks like rubber.

Here in the Philippines, ironically, breakfast fastfood from McDonalds is the best food. Really. I had friends over from 4 different countries (Canada, India, Singapore and Korea) and they all commented how GOOD the breakfast was in McD's here compared to the ones in their own countries.

wendy's definitely taste's more real, but still doesn't taste quite like real food to me. if i want burger i go to local burger joints where they form patties by hand from locally made ground beef, cook it on a grill, cut fresh potatoes for fries, scoop ice cream to make my shake, slice veggies right there, etc etc etc. real food always taste's 100% more satisfying. corporate food makes my taste buds stoned with MSG and makes my gut feel like i swallowed a rock

Thank you so much for the facts. I remember back when I worked for Pizza Hut. One think I noticed is that the Pizzas were going out looking nothing like the commercials. This is where I made an effort to correct the problem and got the entire workforce into making the perfect pizzas.
It should be against the law as all of this is false advertising. I say we pass a law that all advertising should be WYSIWYG, what you see is what you get. I have been so tempted to get a picture from an ad and go into a store and ask for the manager, then tell him, "I want one to order one of these, and it better look like this"!

Have you ever worked in a resturaunt or fast food joint? When you have to make food for hundreds of people a day, the last thing on your mind is to spend 20 minutes per burger / sub to make look picture perfect.
@komodojoe2 the point is to eat fast food in moderation. Of course if you eat McDonalds twice a day every day with no exercise you are going to see impacts on your health such as weight gain. One of my biggest pet peeves is people saying fast food causes obesity when in reality it is people that don't know when too much is too much.

I noticed that nearly all of these things come with cheese. People wonder why they get so fat eating fast food. I NEVER eat the cheese. If they mistakenly add cheese I take it back. Also, I don't wan't the "special sauce." Want to keep of the tonnage? Order minus the cheese, the sauce, get packets of ketchup or whatever. This ensures that you don't get food that's pre-made, they have to make a fresh one.

It should be called synthetic cheese or synthetically enhanced cheese. Nasty stuff. I make my own bugers at home and use real cheese and free range grass fed beef, tomatoes from the garden, etc.. Ever had fresh vegetables and fruits straight from the garden? -- nothing beats it.

wendy's definitely taste's more real, but still doesn't taste quite like real food to me. if i want burger i go to local burger joints where they form patties by hand from locally made ground beef, cook it on a grill, cut fresh potatoes for fries, scoop ice cream to make my shake, slice veggies right there, etc etc etc. real food always taste's 100% more satisfying. corporate food makes my taste buds stoned with MSG and makes my gut feel like i swallowed a rock

It should be against the law as all of this is false advertising. I say we pass a law that all advertising should be WYSIWYG, what you see is what you get. I have been so tempted to get a picture from an ad and go into a store and ask for the manager, then tell him, "I want one to order one of these, and it better look like this"!

Have you ever worked in a resturaunt or fast food joint? When you have to make food for hundreds of people a day, the last thing on your mind is to spend 20 minutes per burger / sub to make look picture perfect.

@komodojoe2 the point is to eat fast food in moderation. Of course if you eat McDonalds twice a day every day with no exercise you are going to see impacts on your health such as weight gain. One of my biggest pet peeves is people saying fast food causes obesity when in reality it is people that don't know when too much is too much.

I noticed that nearly all of these things come with cheese. People wonder why they get so fat eating fast food. I NEVER eat the cheese. If they mistakenly add cheese I take it back. Also, I don't wan't the "special sauce." Want to keep of the tonnage? Order minus the cheese, the sauce, get packets of ketchup or whatever. This ensures that you don't get food that's pre-made, they have to make a fresh one.

@soco13466 , add to that, it's not even cheese, it called processed cheese food. It says something like that on the label! It shouldn't be called cheese or food! It should be called synthetic cheese or synthetically enhanced cheese. Nasty stuff. I make my own bugers at home and use real cheese and free range grass fed beef, tomatoes from the garden, etc.. Ever had fresh vegetables and fruits straight from the garden? -- nothing beats it.

@SpazChat Ok, first, I eat no cheese of any kind, simply because all of my life, I have never liked it. I absolutely loathe the smell of it, especially those like blue cheeze, Limberger... they smell like someone threw up on a pair of stinky socks. I believe that those who like that stuff are either masochists or food snobs. As far as veggies out of the garden, yes, those are best, especially tomatoes. Commercial tomatoes are bred for shelf life, have no flavor.

@soco13466 , It's no surprise that cheese smells like that to you. That's part of the process of getting it cured or ready to eat (fermentation) and certain bacteria work on it that isn't harmful to humans. Plus, it contains a lot of fat, and may contain puss and mucous

I rarely eat fast food, & most of these things I have never & will never try.
I may only have it a few times a year, but the Wendy's Chicken Club & the BK Enormous Breakfast Sandwich are good.
I don't blame fast food for the weight situation in America, I blame the people to stupid to realize this food isn't a staple and shouldn't be eaten all the time.

@daveh013 Work a banana? Surely those come with instructions in several languages. Next: How to operate a can opener, or better yet, how to cook raw ingredients... I have found that I can eat much higher quality food for a fraction of the cost of this stuff. I make the best beef stew ever. I love my chili. My chicken stew is out of this world. And my burgers... and breakfast? I can cook up some bacon or sausage, fried potatoes, eggs and toast so good... mmm I need go no further.

I work in a Subway Sandwiches Restaurant in Germany and its impossible to make a Sandwich who look likes the Advertisement. BUT when you make something from these Things to eat, and you do it with Fun and a bit concentration and Time, then it Looks very Good! And taste good, too! :)
Its not easy, to make a Perfect looking Sandwich or something, when there a many people who want something to eat :) Go and work in some of these Restaurants and you will understand :D
