Vance hines is where its at for the blast, plus its the perfect backpressure for a nice intake and a little rejet. Mine is not bad acceleration wise with that and a wider tire but i think the big bore kit is the best bet... 350lbs and 605cc's.... Now thats a fun bike haha
The blast is 380lbs, not 250lbs. Only a scooter could be as light as 250 lbs. And no, the Blast is not fast. Great gas mileage (I get over 90mpg hyper-miling) but it's damn slow. Vibrates a LOT too. It'll do 100mph pretty easily with a wide open throttle.
Yes it is. It is light at 250lbs, easy to handle, and has great low end speed. If you want highway speeds however, don't expect quick acceleration over 70mph. The seating is pretty upright instead of bent over, making it a comfortable learner bike. My only complaint is that it's so easy to outgrow, but with 55city/65hwy gas milege it's easy to hang on to.

is the buell blast 500cc bike a good bike to start out on? I found one around where I live pretty cheap.
