Still as beautiful as when a mate gave me a tape of 'Spiderland' in 93', with the hushed words "You've really got to hear this!".
Back then there was really only word-of-mouth for Slint and bands like them, it was a real find!
As much as the internet (particularly YouTube!!!) brings out a load of bellends/cyber-warriors, it's great that people get into bands like this through it too.
i saw them in NYC summer '07, the venue was small enough that i was able to get a full frontal view of the band right at the stage. Their performance was mind-blowing and the show was incredible!
I like them, but I don't understand why everyone thinks they are amazing. It's ok, but I much prefer someone like Polvo who is much more interesting. Maybe you had to first hear them in the early 90's to be blown away. At this point they don't do a lot for me. Nice to listen to but not jaw-dropping.
Don't listen to that guy. Gojira has no resemblance to Slint whatsoever. As a matter of fact, Gojira really sucks, so you might as well just stick with Slint, cause nothing else quite sounds like this.
You have to see them live to understand it's really worth being there.
Apart from Slint I don't really like bands copying the cd. I saw Porcupine Tree live once and I couldn't wait for the end to come. But then, I don't really like their music anyway.
I love Sebadoh but I was a little dissapointed in their live show.....they messed around too much, the songs that i loved didnt sound as good as the cd and really id like it to sound somewhat like the cd but with tasteful extras....maybe im picky..
killer band with an unbeleivable sound of brewing challeging piece of music saw them @webster hall nyc 7-17-07. one of my top favorites. soothing and relaxing heavy alternative rock
This is an example of why independent music is so important. A rare gem that not many people know about, yet those who do know they are one of the greatest bands ever conceived. Thank you for this video.
this music is amazing, the vocals are genius, inspires sincerity,

I only discovered that post rock was essentially born here in Louisville just two days ago. I'm sure glad I did.
Now I have Sigur Ros, GY!BE, and now, Slint.

bitches..I've got the 'spiderland spider' tatooed on my left arm since like 1997..the absolute textbook 'proto emo indie album' of all time.

did slint have any idea what they were creating when they were just pencil necked geeky kids?
i'm 34 now and get the same goosebumps and weird transfixed state of mind now as when i was 15, every time i listen to spiderland.
amazing...

i think their "no stage presence" is the best stage presence for the style they have

Yeah, it's basically no BS - just listen to the awesome music and see the talent. Damn, I can't get enough of this track.

This brings so many memories of Louisville in the early 90's....
If you don't know anything about the Louisville music scence in the 90's then you should check out Rodan, Sunspring, Endpoint, The Rachels...
