  • is safe the vcore in 1.568?

  • x4 955 @ 4.2 GHz

i've reached 4.6 but i dont need that... i would not use 4.6 for everyday usage u know :p

  • @PCRampagE what are your settings for 4.2Ghz?

  • @misterpc23

    Voltage 1.55 volts..

    Multiplier: x21

    Clock: 4.22 Ghz :)

  • Old homemade porno music!

  • overclock in bios not AMD Overdrive...

  • Why do all these videos have gay dance music?

  • @left4dead1462

To each to his own. Not to get in a heated music debate, but the videos are mine and I can put what music I want on them. You're actually the first person to complain, I expected more than that. I get a lot of people asking me what songs I use because they actually like them.

  • @Slappa what kind of guys like gay dance music?

  • @Slappa music's ok, just watch the clip if you're interest in the cpu or leave it. simple as that.

  • @left4dead1462

Do not insult techno/trance music cause it's amazing!

  • is the only difference between 955 and 965 that it's more stable at higher clocks?

  • what software were you using to OC?

  • @ChesterRxs

    AMD Overdrive

  • Lol my 940BE is running at 3,6 1.4V, 3,8 needs over 1,488V :S

  • mine is at 4ghz just from the fans i got in it, runs about 19C if i kick on the AC she drops too like 13 i could probel kick it up higher but whats the point? nothing needs it.

  • 100 % NOT PrimeStable ;)

  • @BerlinTerror65

Yeah this is not prime stable. The 940's were early steppings and didn't overclock that well past 3.8GHz stably. However the 955, 965, 555 etc and the 1090T, 1100T can all do ~4GHz+

  • Nice but the he isn't running it on full load thats one of the main reasons it is so cool.

If you look at 1:32 you'll see percentages next to each core. That percentage is the load. If he stress tested it so all cores were on full load the temperature would increase a lot, lot more!

  • Your voltage is nuts

  • Yeah, so , you got it to 4.2 GHz, but you didnt run stability tests and apparently the installed cooler wasnt good enough.

  • @techie103 i hate all these overclocking videos that try and show off with high frequencies and low temperatures, they never run it under a full load

  • @sneakypeakey yup, then when you are running a CPU intensive task, you get a black or blue screen :) Gee, now I wonder why that happened?, lol

  • does overdrive work on AMD 8xx chipsets?

  • you only need 1.44 voltage?

  • @UTubeLightBulb i need 1,4v for 4ghz

  • Yeah my 940 will do that with just my ZALMAN 9500, but it's not stable at anything over 3.7 on air. I never use that POS overclocking software though. It's always better to OC using the BIOS. AMD Overdrive is crap, as well as any SW OC apps.

  • fake

  • I have a GA-M720-US3 mobo and the phenom 940 BE and AMD overdrive does not see my cpu etc either ! i thought mine was a 7 series chipset but i guess not

  • what's ur cpu-cooler?

  • was it stable? cause i can get my 955 over that and have it idle about 35c but when its in use it crashes lmao

  • is your mother board a MSI g65 or a GD70

    ShinyMetalProduction

there is a little white switch under your pci express slots it hase a little lable on it saying Ez

    overclocking switch

  • got my phenom ii 955 running at 4.2Ghz on air only

  • Kk i sorta got used to it and i did find my OC switch(it was behing my vid card) but it kept crashing so i have it on default. Im using AMD overdrive and dont know what settings to use plz help

  • I have an AMD Pheonom II X4 925 processer and how much GHz can i overlock that to.

  • hmm my 925 is stable at 3.64 ghz at like 1.49 V( in bios) because of vdroop, actual voltage its getting is only like 1.416 V, which i think is pretty good for a 30% overclock. but for me to get it to like 3.78 ghz, i need like 1.6 in bios which is wayy too much voltage.

but every chip is different, so just make sure u have good cooling and play around with the clocks and volts in your bios. raising the voltage on ur chip to 1.5 V should be no problem.

  • @kpopsaranghaex3 I have a Cooler Master V8 and i really dont know how to overlock...theres suppose to be a swicth on my motherboard where you turn it on for 30% overlock...but i cant find it

  • It depends on what type of cooling you have. If you have a good after-market air cooler, you could easily get 2.6 or maybe higher

  • How do you overlock

  • if you press del(may differ depending on your mobo) when its booting you get in the bios menu there you can change settings to overclock it :D but know wut you are doing ftw

  • Well if you are having a problem you can try just takin off the side of the case and that will help a little.

  • Woxerlin all processors are different man, some are golden chips some can't oc 10%. It's just a hat trick basically when you buy them.

  • man :P i need abit help, Visit my Video about the AMD Phenom ii x4 965 , trying to reach 4.2 ghz.. But fail's, always crash or just Freeze, like the whole system is blocked to go over 3800 mhz.. Anyway was stable at 3800 mhz and runend it like 1 moth witout a singel crash

  • is the heat sink included in dragon platform?

  • I wonder why they dont try to make some kind of refrigerator cases for pcs now considering how hot cpus get and the improved performances gained. There has to be a way to control the condensation of such in a safe way.

  • @STUDIOANIMOSITY id pay for one lol

  • GreenPeace

  • I just turn on my aircon and aim it into open case lol. Cools me down and my comp drops at least 20-30C at the same time.

  • are you stable at 4.2ghz...???

  • most likely not

  • why not what...???

  • with that cooling system it would be very hard to have a stable cpu at anything over 3.8ghz

  • That's not necessarily true.

Assuming he's somewhere cold, and his ambient temps are fairly low he could easily do that.

I've hit 4.0 on air (P2 965) with ambients at about 17 and side panel off.

I could probably hit 4.3/4.3 if I were to start opening windows in december.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rocism01 pfft. Until he runs out of ice. so Obviously not.

  • Good lord...

  • haha awesome

was it easy for you go get 3.9ghz stable?

it's so difficult for me,more voltage seems to be worse, the nb seems to want fine tuning and the ht link is at 2000 on 1.25volts

,i'm confused on what to do next, any ideas?

  • lol how are you cooling it so well?

    the quality isn't so good

  • Big box fan drawing cold air into the case originating from my window. :P

  • @Slappa i hope a bug doesent fly by..

  • damn i cant use over drive for my athlon 7750+ x2

  • yes you can.

  • You have to have a 7XX series chipset to run AMD Overdrive.

Even then, OCing from the BIOS is better for everyday overclocks. Overdrive is only good for suicide runs.

  • agreed.

  • no man, it says that it cant find a 7series chipset :(

  • That is what I said above...

You require a 7XX series chipset on a mobo to run AMD Overdrive

  • This was all 4 cores....

I don't do single core bullshit

  • Well, the camera angles looked a little wierd to me as it was only showing one core. Checked out your other vid, so its all good!

  • :))) there were all 4 cores dude ....there is one and only multiplier witch aplies to all 4 cores ...u cant separete the multiplier to diferent values for each core

  • i got this problem "amd processor unknown model" i know its a bios problem so how do i fix it,,,and i have ram 8GB but it shows 3.25GB only is this also bios problem plzz help

  • you need 64 bit OS to use more than 3.25

  • google how to flash a bios and download your updated bios from your mobo makers website. It sounds like your running 32 bit windows. you need 64 bit in order to use more than 3.25 gigs of ram

  • lawl get 64bit that will fix the ram

  • exactly what i was about to say, lol! 32 can only maintain around 3gb of ram max. Get 64x and you can get 8gb no prob!

  • nice. i have a 940 on a asus m4a79-e with 6gb of corsair dominator pc6400 1 sapphire hd4870 vapor-x 2gb,oh and a my cpu is on stock 3.0ghz and with stock heatsink. should i change the heat sink to be able to get atleast 3.9ghz? if so which do you recommend? thanx.

  • Change the stock heatsink for sure if you want to do any overclocking. I suggest a xigmatek S1283 cooler. Couple this with a strong fan and you have a great cooler.

3.9-4GHz is very hard on the 940. I have since moved on to 955 from when I created this video.

however, I think you should be able to attain 3.7GHz-3.8GHz

  • LOLZ! Stock.. Yeah!

What are your other settings? I'm tryign like hell to get to boot windows @ 4.0g thru the BIOS.. Nothing is working..

I've checked the boards and there is little help there.. I can't find the combo that works.

  • You are on a 940 right? which board?

First, I would start by making sure ram and NB clock are 100% stable. Then start upping the clockspeed.

Keep in mind that these chips like cold temps more than voltage if applicable.

  • I got the same big fan and all I get is system freez..I mean I can move the pointer and click but no response for the other applications :(

  • Is this just with stock settings, or are you overclocked?

  • no! it's in stock frecuency!

  • It is highly unlikely that it is the processor causing the problems.

I would make sure that the ram timings are correct in the bios. I would also make sure your harddrive is not dying.

If none of this works, it has to be a software problem.

  • I see..thanks for the help :) btw my system is an aftermarket platform (HP) and yes, the bios is LOCKED! so sadly I can't overclock anything..thanks again!

  • HP's are not aftermarket. Regardless of what line of products it is. They are prebuilt computers. They have a tendency to lock the bios options.

However, you could try purchasing a new compatible motherboard and just swapping it with the one you have now.

If not, you may very well be stuck for overclocking.

  • spec Please!

  • At the end of the video. Thanks for watching

  • yeah you can get it to 4.2 but as soon as you open a program it will probably crash on you. =]

  • I could get it stable if I wanted to. Sorry, I just don't feel like pumping over 1.6V through it.

  • you would need over 1.6 or DICE to lower the cpu temps and thus getting it stable

    this isnt a ES chip

  • soung?

  • Song name is at the end of the video

    however, I'll still say it:

    Intricacy by Armin Van Buuren

  • what cooling on mobo u use?

  • Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 - CPU Heatsink

    NB cooler was stock

  • I have that setup except the memory 8gb ddr2

  • Responded to your message. Should get you a good start on OCing this thing.

  • Just go buy a Phenom II, they are great.

    You know you want to....

  • Can i have that?
