Listen up PLEASE! First of all, You are gorgeous, you don't have ONE wrinkle, your hair is perfect, color is great, your outfit is classy. If anything, I would grow your hair a little long, side-part it, or go a little more blonde. It'll make your features POP - secondly, if you hadn't mentioned your age, I would say you were 26. You have a very young face. Thirdly (gonna sting, deal) your whining isnt attractive, so please just shut up & GET OUT THERE. You'll be fine. Just be confident!
i understand... Im 35 soon and going through all the same feelings. Strange age to be and even stranger when you havent had kids and all your friends are having them now. Where do i fit in?? I only realized i wasn't young anymore when i came back to england after working abroad for a few years. I was 33 and it was a big shock for me.
Hi, I'm 36 Australian - eeek its no different. funny part is are we the generation to do this. the ones who changed focus from 50's dream' to gaining experience travel, career & independence. Oz is youth focused unlike other cultures it doesn't give recognition to age. haha comments ring true re: dating now. Lots of friends are beautiful, succesful & healthy but are solo. 36yr men date younger. date who? 45-50 SO not fair. its like i woke 1 day last month & went oh no but whats left?
I'm 36 and except for the single mom part, can totally identify with everything you said. I do have kids, though--and wow, most of what you said I have thought or said myself. It feels good to know that I'm not crazy. Thanks for posting this. :)
Cougar? Maybe, but I don't see you chasing after young men. I do bet you get the MILF label. I have a ning network right up that alley if you want to do some social spelunking. I'm not going to link to it directly. You have to find you way there.
There does not have to be 2 categories of young and old. The place you are in is just as valid as the other 2. Enjoy it. If you are feeling miserable from time to time remember that you own that feeling. Isn't happiness a choice? I think a person at any age can feel like they are in limbo. Do you think you will be happen when something specific happens in your life? What is it that you want?
This is in no way a scolding. But you of all people should know the dynamic of a magazine, the essential mind-manipulation deep down in every page, strategically. A perceived inadequacy, a need partially satisfied by a stack of slick paper, with yellow, cyan, magenta and black smudges. You have a peek behind the wizard's curtain of media, large and small, old and new, that most don't have (though we're starting to). Have you ever met the people in that magazine? Think about it.

I understand 36 is older but you make it sound like you're 80 years old or something...age is just a number. Don't worry about it too much.
