@RougeGunny It probably would, although there are bound to be differences between this and the Slim because the loaders are different.

@renanutube That's probably the plastic top not being aligned right. My "PS3 optical drive top" video should help with that.

thanks mate - made my drive better as it wasnt ejecting the disc - now it does but not as good as previously but at least it works thanks

okai, so its fixed one of my problems, and now it will try to take a disc in, but now, its like there is something blocking it, it will not go any furthher than like halfway into the disc thing.... dus this mean i left the arm on the cog by accident? coz that little lever thing may be blocking it. hmm

@themusicvideoperson This sounds like something is still not quite right in the transport alignment, so it could be that the left arm is still too far down and touching the gear train. This would cause the transport to raise up too early and make the disc jam inside.

i can't find the pocket for the the left arm, im pretty sure its not snapped off becuase there's no sign of it? help please? ive tried to move it using the pivot and theres nothing, just the right arm moves :(

this really fixed my problem thanks a lot. if you guys feel like somethings blocking from inserting your disk, then Alignment Check would fix this. just follow the video.

When i push on the right arm, the left one does not move at all, can you help me please?? i dont know what to do....

@819Mgr If the right arm moves but the left one doesn't, it could be that the pivot arm on the back is improperly installed, or maybe the rack on the left arm is engaged with the gears on the bottom of the left arm that lift the transport up.

@junker15 urm i have this guys problem and the little pockets that you put the metal thing in, i cant find the one on the right and this is making my right arm only move. Its really annoying please help

I had a used game I purchased, got home, played it, tried to eject it and it wouldn't come out. I opened the ps3 and when I removed the magnet I realized it had glue around the ring from a rental sticker the prior owner or shop removed. I had to open it with the disc inside, when I took it out the (unable to slide it) the presure popped the limbs back in to default position and a small spring 1/3rd an inch came out. No hooks, very plain, I am unable to locate where it goes. Please, help.

hey there, my ps3 got the YLOD, and i got a cd stuck in there. so i took the drive apart and got it out manually. i followed your guides to re-assembly, and its not taking cds in at all anymore. i try to put a cd into the drive and its not sucking the cd in, but it feels like it can still be placed inside.I was curious if the YLOD prevents the ps3 from even taking cds in at all, or is it something did? a response would be great and could save me some money when i get it repaired!

i had the ylod and i fixed it. but before i fixed i took the drive apart to get my disk and ever since it hasnt been workin right. and ive done taken the drive apart and did everything in just about all ur vids and now it will read the disk and take the disk. but it wont eject. it'll say that it has ejected it but the disk will not come out. so what else is there that i could do? please help!

thanks to your videos i got a ps3 for free.

my friends ps3 broke, and he gave it to me to take the disc out (modern warfare 2) he bought a new ps3, and said that if i could fix his old one(launch series, 60 gb, 4 usb, backwards compatible) i could keep it.

so i got cracking, and looked at your videos.

sensational stuff. dissassembled, replaced blue ray lens and re- assembled. put in disk and it got stuck. so followed your instructions for the emergency eject tutorial and Voila....working great...ty for your vids/tutorials...very well explained and certainly did the job for me...many thanks. Gil

Okay, I watched your video. I disassembled my drive and reassembled. Before it wouldn't take a disk, now it is taking a disk. It won't read it. It won't eject it. I checked all the alignments. What else could be wrong with it? Thanks!

@joenemo651 Make sure the plastic top is installed properly. See my "optical drive top" or "revised emergency eject" videos for how to verify this. The disc is probably just sitting in there and spinning around at this point.

@JoseAlbertoPR I haven't seen these parts available anywhere. It seems that PS3 parts places just stock the laser hardware and a few other parts for the drive if you're lucky. For all it's worth, ebay may be a better place to look.
