very well done video. IMO flat topping this marker is a must-have mod. i tell anyone who does think so that it really has no downside, seeing as you can add a more realistic carrying handle to the rail if you wanted to anyhow.

The red dot looks great at the end but one question:

I've noticed that with the mask on, it's harder to align and aim the marker well cause my mask bumps against the stock. But if I mount a scope on the handle, I could probably get rid of this problem. However, you seem to have done the exact opposite, to bring the sight closer to the gun so don't you usually have a problem with that?

Hey to those doing this, Be shure to keep track of the tiny springs becuase when I took open my alpha black my trigger spring broke and i had to return it to dicks and lie then get a new one. It was a Cheap move but it set me in a good position.

So he just made it like the Project Salvo, except the PS has the rail mount instead of the M4s hand guard and PS has the folding AR15 stock. I was going to buy this but luckily they were out of Alpha Blacks and had Project Salvo, saved me all this trouble because I am probably gong to get a laser/flashlight, grip and reflex sight.

Sawing the marker top off creates a lot of aluminum dust. Taking the marker apart makes the clean up process much easier without the dust getting into everything.

My next marker might be like an Ultralite from proto if i ever get the money to spend like that. Til then, My AB (now fitted with an egrip) will hold me over.

It can be an air hog at times but that depends on what you compare it to. That's what we expect when we buy tippmann's!. My brother uses an X7, and he dogs his air much faster than mine !!! after we play about 4 rounds, he'll need an air change, when I'm hovering at around 1000 PSI. Now if you're comparing an AB vs. like a speedball gun or something like it, well ofcourse it's an air hog but everyone has their opinion on a marker, so far, I've had positive results, so I'm loyal =)

yea, you don't wanna mess up your internals through this process. Be advised that when you remove the rail, you end up with a big hole on the top of your marker, so the rails cover that up nicely.

I'm glad it helps. Remember this is just one way of doing it. In my particular case, I was being very budget with it. A grinder or a sander helps out a lot and cuts the time in half with smoothing off the top.

Another method users have suggested to me was staple the sandpaper onto a flat surface, and smoothing out the top while your marker is upside down.

I used a grinder and then a belt sander. Worked wonders and shortened down the time to do the mod to 20 minutes max. I used some black housepaint that I found in my basement, and I'm going to drill the holes soon enough. Great video, and good luck to all that do this mod!

yea, but who really uses the sights on their marker? I usually shoot off one shot and adjust accordingly to where my shot landed. I'm one of those believers that everything for the marker to "improve" whatever is cosmetic unless thee is some sort of engineering involved behind it.

I would give it a 10 out of 10 for accuracy. Its 11 in. stock barrel is extremely accurate and tippmanns have always been durable. It also gets some pretty good range

once you realize that your alpha is built like a rock, you won't fear doing a little modding. But yea, I'd say use the alpha as is, and once you need a new flavor without having to buy any uupgrades or a new marker, the customizer bug will hit you =)))
