  • kill bill style

  • Sounds to me more like she's giving two perspectives, the perpetrator and the victims. The lines are mixed up to not make it so clear.

  • @retreat112 The last lines are a direct borrow/reference from Springsteen's "I'm On Fire", also covered by Bat For Lashes (both great songs).

  • boo to the 5 people who disliked this

  • karin, were you raped?

  • @retreat112 I was more talking about having sex with someone who's say, 18. That would be against the law and the 18 year old (whoever it may be) would go to jail if anyone found out about it and it doesn't matter how I felt. It's about how the government feels about the situation.

  • I love the lyrics. I know this isn't a very popular thing to say but I actually feel very sorry for pedophiles, they have hard lives. That's what this song is about.

  • @Idnarmadur I feel sorry for them too and I'm 13. I hate being a "child" because the law doesn't allow me to do the things I want to do until I'm 18 and I don't find it to be fair. I feel just as sexually matured as anyone else and have the same needs.

  • @FatherAcid that's exactly why you have to be taken care of by the government. you will understand when you grow up.

  • @FatherAcid Yeah, you're a 13 year old child. I believe you. Hahahahaa. Great song. The Knife once again is challenging and refreshing.

  • @Idnarmadur wtf. pedophilia is so wrong. Shit, just cause a song was written about it, doesnt make it right.

  • @tokoyoe I think you're missing a point somewhat. These people are ill. Not all of them act on their urges, but those who do are of course a danger. We still don't understand how the human brain works, as each one is unique. If we did, there would likely be no crimes anymore, as we would have the means to cure neurological disorders and disabilities.

  • @Idnarmadur and also, what about the kids they scar for life? dammbit.

  • @tokoyoe I was thinking about those pedophiles who haven't done any harm yet but suddenly discover they tendencies and have to deal with it.

  • @Idnarmadur Shit, man... that's sad.

  • The end is eargasmic, and the whole sonf is hipnotic and creep. :D

  • Wow, I thought their other songs were amazing, but this one is even more so. It's so fucked up.

  • shes talking about the guilt she feels as a pedophile. thats why she has the urge to die.

  • fire walk with me

  • this song was stuck in my head all period long in Astronomy, lol.

  • I haven't found an explanation for this song yet, except for the pedophile part. What does she mean by "I just had to die"?

  • Hey little girl is your daddy home? I got a bad desire; I'm on fire. ;D

  • i love the sadder knife songs there really deep

  • powerfull lyrics somehow brings me back to highschool the queen of the school treating all the other girls like shite eventually she realize how empty and so alone. maybe a bit like the lyrics

  • incredible... powerfull lyrics, powerfull voice. amazing piece of sad art

  • hey little girl is your daddy home?

  • You do realize the song is in English, right?

  • great song, amazing album! if you judge songs solely based on lyrics, entire genres would be doomed ;)

  • I didnt know that there s a new album... what s its name?

  • the new album is a collaboration, called "Tomarrow, In a Year"

  • @PLURadelphia i really dont like it somehow .. i usually like weird electronic sounds but the new album just cant touch me in any way.

  • @Jellybid yea its different, the "Self titled" album and Deep Cuts r still my fav! luv u Karrin ;)

  • @PLURadelphia i love more silent shout (and the audio visual dvd ;))♥

  • @Jellybid yea the dvd is pretty amazing, i <3 forest families!

  • @PLURadelphia WOW this is my favourite song of the dvd!

  • @PLURadelphia agree

  • a huge grin on your face? have you read the lyrics? it just might change your attitude toward the song.

  • This song pays homage to Bruce Springsteen and his song "I'm on Fire"... and in that song he inadvertently references the knife with his lyrics:

"Sometimes it's like someone took a knife baby"

  • this song is so good it makes me disgusted... like the whole pedophile thing the way she sings it makes me sick to my stomach. this is why i love the knife

  • 4:17

  • This song isn't about a very happy topic... theres definitely a pedophile character shes singing from. A few Knife songs have dark topics.

  • @JaimeStrikesAgain I readed one time that Kino talks too about pedophiles, but I still don't understand why. I Just Had To Die have an more direct lyric about the theme.

  • @adrianovaz2008 Hehe, personally, I think Kino is about letting yourself being used, because you are in love with the person that is using you. But that's just how I interpretate it anyway, by listening/reading the lyrics. What do you think about it? I like hearing other opinions and interpretations of songs, hehe. :)

  • @FluorescentMAAIKE Good interpretation, really sounds like being used by someone... But this using maybe refers exactly about sexual abusing.

  • @FluorescentMAAIKE to bad this isn't kino or else that comment would have been relevant.

  • @JaimeStrikesAgain I seriously doubt that it's about pedohilia. that seems a little to directly interpreted, when i read the lyrics.

  • one of my fav tracks, tough sometimes i wonder why theyr lirics sound somehow very weird, still cool, no doubt on that

  • FFFUUUUU

  • cool

  • its not a very happy song...

  • @SkinnyMann66 well it is called "i just had to die". so a yeah. prolly not happy

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    ahhahahah

  • it sounds like paul kalkbrenners sky and sand...at the beginnig...really..it sounds similar (the beat)

  • this song sounds so oddly happy, slightly trippy too...thanks for uploading xx

  • One of the best songs The Knife has ever made!

  • its an amazing hipnotic song.

    adictive.

  • An Awesome Song! rated 5!
