@mitchelcool Many things, too many too mention. Let's just say Forgotten Hope made Battlefield 1942 what it should have been in the first place, a true WWII battlefield game. Realistic sounds, textures, damage and ballistics, many more maps, tank scopes, vehicles and weapons (also correct ones, unlike BF1942 in which Russians and British use mainly American weapons). Plus there's also Finland, Poland, Australia and Canada. In BF1942 you don't have this Crete map nor a Junkers Ju52.

@Savsish Remember this is 1941. The FG42, as the name implies, was only introduced in 1942. It was actually during the combat experiences in the Battle of Crete that the Germans came to the conclusion that they needed to design a better weapon for their paratroopers.

@IbrahimHassan They didn't even get to drop with their rifle, they had to get that from a dropped box, which happen to be being dropped on take off... one of the many things going wrong here =P

@zachjhk There is in a way. The download links for it were simply unpacked files from the Windows installation, but they are long dead it seems. You could simply install FH on a Windows PC and then copy and paste the installed fh folder into the Mac (to its proper BF1942 installation path of course).

Hell yeah. I remember being so excited about the Crete map when it first came out. I remember being at baseball practice thinking about doing one of these parajumps when I got back home. I think that was around 2004 when I was 12 or 13, lol. The runway originally was pointed straight to the mainland, and there was a hanger. BF1942 (and all of its mods) had soul, something which BF3 looks as if it might lack, sadly.

@rockyson990 FH2 has more players, even though part of me preferred some of the fun you could have in FH1. But FH2 has things FH1 doesn't, so it pays off in the end. So definitely FH2, but I'd try FH1 as well nonetheless, since it has more content (FH2 still missing Eastern Front and Pacific).

What you see in this video you can't do in BF1942, since there's no Crete map, no Junkers 52 and no ability to walk to the plane's exit (you simply appear outside the airplanes when you disembark). FH has realistic damage + ballistics, many more maps, vehicles and weapons (correct ones, unlike BF42 in which Russians and British use only American weapons). Plus there's also Finland, Poland, Australia and Canada. Could say more but no space left.

@MrGetsomebaby No... I'm not wrong in saying a British should be using a Sten and a Russian using a PPSH instead of a Thompson (the British did order them, but not b4 the war. When the Sten was on full issue the Thompsons were limited). And British PIAT was only replaced by Bazooka by 1950. Russians had PTRD and PTRS AT Rifles more than they had lend-leased M1 Bazookas. British, Russians, Japanese all had more of their own-made weapons than imported American or German ones, if they ever needed.
