Okay, first of all in the beginning of the movie it said they don't understand completely what happened and it was a true event. So basically, its not really supposed to make sense. That was the point they don't understand why they killed them.The only explanation was "because you were home". Thats how the true story happened and thats how they made the movie. It was a good movie you people should just stop complaining

Oh... It was a really beatiful Roman Polanski's wife Sharon Tate and they're friends... The events took place in Polanski's house, but when they happened he was in London filming some movie, so his pregnant wife was killed (as much as I remember she was 7th Month pregnant) she was brutally murdered stabbed with a knife, some victims were shot (I'll have to say lucky them, cause being shot is probably less painful death then being stabbed numerous times, that's a really creepy death.)

I thought it was pretty obvious that the killers were sadists. There is no more need of a reason for them to do what they did then that. I think it adds to the creepiness of the movie to see the killers have so little motive other than to cause pain.

I completely disagree. How would you call the enactment of a psychopath's murdering of others deep? I don't think one would have to dive very far to see the result of a simply deranged mind. I really think the movie had promise, but they missed the boat in the end. What made it scary is that there are real nuts out there, so it's not too far fetched. The guy was a very menacing figure. But once they actually get a hold of the couple, it just goes down hill. That, and the fact that the continuity director should be shot. Liv Tyler was dressed in pants and flannel shirt when they catch her, but is in the night gown again when they kill her. Good start, piss poor ending.

I just got done watching The Strangers, it's a pretty suspenseful, it had me jumping a couple of times, I'm glad they focused on being scary than actually having a body count, I could see shit like that happening in real life which makes it even more scary, but the movie was good....it wasn't great.
