This is very shortly before he died at the age of 21. I saw one of the last Pistols shows in Memphis Tenn in Jan 78. I never saw any of these shows. These wee supposed to be his new incarnation. They were making good money at these gigs. Unfortunately, Sid was a big heroin user and that was that.

yeah sometimes it`s hard to remember that sid was all of 19 years old at this time, and was only 20 or 21 when he died. he seems so much older in footage of him, i think it was the heroin, and it just made him look so much older. i see where ppl say terrible things about sid, and call him names and such, but i think they just forget that he was only a kid. and heroin had him by the balls, and so did nancy. poor guy. rip sid.

@sidchaos1988 i like that. the idea that sid used a swastika in order to DEFUSE the meaning of the symbol. this is what people don't get, i guess. the idea that symbols could be used in an ironic way in order to defuse their (perceived) meaning. today, in our postmodern age, we shouldn't take symbols for what "they are." rather, when we encounter a symbol, we should inquire as to whether it is being used in an ironic way. symbols used in an ironic fashion are much more common than we think.

sid wore the swastika to defuse the meaning what you have to remember the swastika was used before the nazis as a sign of peace but the nazis stole it and gave it a new meaning and thats what sid was trying to do he wasnt a nazi at all he just wanted to give it a new meaning its like ppl thought swearing was offensive but the more you hear it the more diluted and less offensive it becomes sid was trying to do the same
