I live in pattaya for 3-7 months every year and has been doing so for the last 20ish years, and i tell ya, there are asshats from every country, sure,but the Russians are allover arrogant racistic pricks running everyone and everything over, disliked by everyone..everywhere they turn their stuid faces.

When we were in Samui we were drugged from the street to some timeshare do and were ambushed by some guy who probably like you lives in Thailand for few months a year doing shitty job.. Ive got friends, hard working thais whos being abused and fooled by 75% Russians. Even my friend in the local police admits that it´s lot of problems with russians due to drugs, alcohol, and confrontations with the locals.

Ive met people from allover the world, different culture, races, religions...some hard to understand, some easy, but for the Russian arrogance i find no answer.

@goroh1 stealing the whole breakfast buffet at the local guesthouse just because it was "all u can eat"? this is a typical russian thing to do, or rent 1 chair on the beach on 10 ppl? In phuket you will find many of the beaches "black flagged" as the locals dont want Russians to sit there. Also alot of hotels are "full" if they suspect that you are russian...are you happy with that?..is that ok for you? I wish that it was coincidences but its not. it happends over and over again.

@Skalmans750 I was in Thailand and I didn't see any of that. There were Russians in my hotels and they didn't eat the whole breakfast by themselves. I didn't see any beaches marked "Russians are not welcome" I saw Thai people trying to speak Russian to me to attract my attention. And I didn't see any Russian prostitutes, only Thai ones. It makes me to come to conclusion that everyone sees what they want to see. You are Russian hater so now wonder you see or imagine that you see crap like that.

You haven´t seen anything on just a few weeks with all respect. If i could take you thru my experiences from over 15 years, you would surely agree with me, but now we can´t . For your sake im glad that you did´t experience anything negative. Just 1 advice to go...NEVER take a smile for granted as friendly in Thailand, there are smiles for every situation or mood..even for pittyness.

There have been Russian dancers in Korea for quite a few years since Korea's economy is better than Russia...but in Thailand? Is the Russian economy that bad or is there another reason? I have only been to Thailand once and most of my time was spent in Ayutthaya and Ang Thong with my friend's family. I am eager to return, but I doubt I will spend much time around the foreigners' hotspots like Pattaya and Phuket. I was lucky enough to visit Soi Cowboy! Not interested in Russian women by the way.

I have seen Thai men usually 6 or more attack one or 2 drunken english or aussie guys but when it comes to russians they melt away as they have more numbers...i agree pattaya and phuket is overrun with russians i hate the women and ignore the men very arroggant race...and one day they will take over and the brits will see sense and stay away....Brazil is much better anyway without the attitude of thai men or russians

99% of the Thais on pattaya streets got their income from tourists in some way. They know better then to bite the hand that feeds them.

Even though they will cut off the whole arm if they get a chance.

The Russians are pumping in huge amounts of money in Thailand, getting away with some bad attitude this way.

Russians alone stands for 55% of the total income for the people working in pattaya..scary isn' it.

Russians everywhere taking over places like Pattaya, Phuket.

Our old favourite restaurants, pubs, bars is so infected with russians that we cant go there anymore.

They come in sutcha big numbers,and with sutcha rude attitude, especially towards the Thais.

I Speak Thai, and i can tell you that most of the Thais hates the Russians for their lack of respect and understanding.

But..they smile, at least until u have payed the bill. then they spit behind your back.

Plus why aint the Thai authorities kicking them out for working....would love to see if a brit brought english women over to work (wouldnt last a day i know no customers) but they must be working without visas etc....like you say tho if they bring in the money all is good...within 10 years the place will be the playground of russians, indians and arabs only and the brits will see sense and get over to rio

You can buy a cop, a politician etc to do the job for you, fix any document you need and so on (even working permissions).

@Skalmans750 Agree I cannot stand the Russians. The men wear shit cheap clothes 5 sizes too small they dress like little boys LOL. They are such tight sods as well. I saw one Russian but a gift from a stall the price was 99 bhat and they asked the girl for the 1 bhat change, thats sad. I had just given a waitress a 200 bhat tip as she was lovely girl. The Thai do hate Russians but will always take there money. They all tell me they hate them thou.

@foxtopin Yes..its sad indeed, one thing that worries me is that the racism is growing among the Thais due this behaviour (among others).

There are many exemples on how the slightest incident leads to brutal assults where 2-3 Thai guys jumping 1 single farang in a matter of seconds. and even though it makes me depressed to witness things like that , i understand the Thais fully.
