That's an excellent point, a lot of people with lofty ideals tend to talk a lot about what's wrong with the other guy and how the truth is not comming out. However when it's time for some doing we can sometimes fall short. Also the issue of making a serious amount of money to put behind a worthy cause is important and often falls short partly because business is rarely based on being a nice person, more often it's based on pulling off criminal activity legally.

Clinton ran a budget surplus. Bush annihilated that surplus with skyrocketing spending coupled with tax cuts on rich people. That's where our debt comes from -- trillion dollar wars, privatization and give-aways to the rich.

Now that the boomers are retiring there is a major demographic glitch in the system. There is nearly $100 trillion in taxpayer obligations to the boomers through medicaid, social services, etc. And Obama is talking about universal health care? Simply wont work under the current paradigm. The debt is OUT OF CONTROL and neither can fix it
