They take it down some so he doesn't stress his voice out. Lets face it, Pierre sings high as hell on record so it's only normal to take it down a bit so he doesn't ruin his voice completely on tour. Not that he can't do it, because he can obviously, he's just playing it safe.

Actually, Justin said in an interview recently that his voice is EXTREMELY prone to going out on tour. He's started taking a vocal coach on the road with him, and he doesn't even eat chocolate. But yeah, it surprises me as well. He's so damn good.
