@reanimationxp Well, you're right it's not autotune, but it's not an "echo filter" either (this doesn't really mean anything, echo is one thing, a filter is another). On record, PC's voice is double tracked, to give that slightly chorused effect. Live, it will be some sort of chorus effect, that gives a similar effect. Added to which there will be reverb and delay.

As for the 80s, there were lots of autotune tweaks then as well...lots of people couldn't sing, it was just harder to fix!
