Candian Kennel Club Cool not the contenental kennel club wich is fake. AKC is only FSS untill July then it will be full AKC. UKC registers mutts all the time look what they did with pits registrating Bullies as full blooded APBT. FCi does not keep track of bloodlines.

I had a Cane Corso, with docked tail but normal ears, very intelligent dogs. Mine was fully house trained at 10 wks old. At 6 mths she knew how to sit, roll over, play dead, high five, shake a paw, stay, fetch, and beg (she'd sit and put both paws in the air :) ) I miss her so much they are a very large dog as well Ash weighed 160 lbs at one year.

Lovely dogs, but i think people who let their dogs undrergo unneeded risk of infections to make them "look better" need a waffle iron to the back of their heads.

If it's a dog used for hunting, taking the tail off is ok.. as it will risk getting it's tail bloodied running betw trees etc, and thus risk pain and infections anyway.

But this is just disgusting and i'm quite happy the practise is banned in my country!

@oilpatchgirl Nether dog is real healthy. They carry many of the same problems as other mastiff breeds athough the cane Corso rarely drools. Just take one thing to mind make sure the breeder has done OFA testing to insure both parents have good hips. Make sure as the puppy grows you dont over feed it or over exersize it those are the two major causes of HD!

Excellent video. It displays numerous beautiful characteristics of the cane corse. The Mastiff Collosus breed is ancestor to both the Cane Corso (aka Sicilian Mastiff) and the Italian Mastiff (aka Neopolitan Mastiff). Obviously, both Cane Corso and Neopolitan are both Italian mastiffs because both are from the same country. However, they differ in that they are from different regions of Italy; Cane Corse being from Sicily. Check out the history.

Sorry, I disagree. Cane corso and Mastino napoletano are both from the south of Italy, they fully diverged quite recently. Of course their ancestor, as you said, is the Molosso, the war dog used by romans in battles and arenas.

Italy has at least 3 mastiffs: Mastino napoletano (the one usually called Italian mastiff), the Cane corso and the Cane sardo. So Cane corso is just one of the italian mastiffs ;).

the Neapolitan Mastiff is certainly not the same dog as the Cane Corso, fra I think thats what you're implying.. They both do come from the same ancient mastiff/colossus type dogs though.
