I have a potentially stupid question. The chord is not detachable, so what happens if something happens to it? Do you have to replace the entire headphones? Sorry, i don't know too much about audio.

The AKGs are proffessional studio / High End headphones offering perfectly detailed sound.
They aren't built as a status symbol, like the Beats, but for serious music listeners and producers!

No one is going to use these with an iPod or while jogging, because no portable music device is strong enough to drive these headphones.
