I think their hard efforts for this movie was well paid off :) I really like the idea of having new actors/actresses as the roles and especially having women take the lead. I really do like the theme of motherhood in this movie even though it wasn't the theme of the game.

Okay I've been watching the movie and I was wondering something. Why, at the total end of the movie, Rose doesn't see her husband when she gets home ?

At the end of the movie we see the rain still pouring down in Rose's perspective and in her husband's it's sunny and light. This is to show that even after escaping Silent Hill, she is still trapped in its dimension/reality and will never be truly rid of the horror that is Silent Hill.

I don't think the first Resident Evil movie was all that great either. I actually liked the Silent Hill movie because they spent a lot of time on it. Games into movies often don't turn out very good unless they change the plot completely like they did with RE:Extinction. And that one was my favorite in the RE movie series.

It was the music and atmosphere that made it good. whether it be a game or a movie (horror particularly) the music and atmosphere helps to generate the emotions-it is as much a character in the story as anyone else.
