  • Gettin' my treats while the machinery is working.Gorgeous sounds and 'pretty as a picture' pictures.I do wonder which Queen Anne it is....They were all so different one from t'other.

    Lovely stuff LaurieLee

  • You have a really musical ear. I love the places you take these rambles.Incredible notes!

  • @dickidoo123 thanks so much:-) the rambles are really theraputic getaways for me....this one was a song,...most of them are never repeated melodies....I'm very forgetful,....hard time retaining the things i write, and play, i admit it!! I'm glad they are cataloged here and there! thanks for listens, and kind words!!:-)

    Laurie

  • Looks great Laurie but what does it smell like? Pleasing ramble to go with it, enjoyed hearing it, especially with the odd surprise minor change hear and there.

    Pete

  • @CurtisMateer Carrots! ...I have to revisit them to prove that out, myself....the blooms have not much scent a'tall ..the stalk said to smell of carrot, edible root before flowering stage.....(in case you are REALLY hungry while on a hike, and/or adventurous!)

  • Very very nice ,, beautiful pictures & slide guitar to match ,, great control ,, both thumbs well & truly UP ,, cheers ,, dave :))

  • @reprac9 Thankyou so much Dave!:-) It was good to "capture" them, I don't always have a camera at hand when driving....so this was a "mission" of mine....lots of rain in winter , they were everywhere...still are, but they peaked about then.....

    Cheers have a lovely day!

    Laurie

  • I always thought that was a great name for a flower! Wonderful photos and superb close-ups of the bees. i like your shots of the highway too.

    Glad you enjoyed:-)

  • One of the lovliest things I have heard in a long time, what a gorgeous melody, would you mind If I borrowed it to sing along with? BRAVO I love it. Oxo

your Brit friend.....Zazzy x ( I think we call it cow parsley in England)

  • Looked it up....... Cow parsley ( wild chervil, hedge parsley, keck, wild beaked parsley ) Latin name: Anthriscus .

  • @zazamaxi now i must investigate further:-) what i read said it should smell like a carrot!! the root is edible, but must be dug before flowering.....one variety with a similar look to it, is NOT edible, but poisonous......!

  • @zazamaxi :-) You will have to lend me a poem sometime, and see what I might bake up? .....it is fun to make melodies to other than my own musings!!! and fun for the writer to hear the complete "surprise" Thanks so much , Maxi!! much love to you1

  • How beautiful is this Laurie, just loving that guitar melody, wonderful slide, is it open D tuning ?

  • @withnailus thankyou my dear....Tis open D, Matt,.. as you know...singing adds another set of notes...which are missing here...someday we will post the song as sung...!Glad you enjoyed, and thankyou!

    XOsLaurie

  • Beautiful music and pictures! We don't have Queen Anne's Lace in Sweden, but we got fennel and coriander a.o. in the Apiaceae family! Cheers!-karl

  • @karlake2 Love the fennel too,....and the smell of it! ....some "weeds" are very nice ones:-)Thanks Karl, for your listens, kind words!:-)

  • well what d'ya know. beauty DOES still exist in the world.

  • @dwdeclare :-) I find alot of comfort in the natural...we tend to take for granted,,,finding a good "show" is almost medicinal at times...

  • @cinderellalifestyle that reminds me of a line from woody allen's midnight in paris, "the artist's job is not to succumb to despair, but to find an antidote to the emptiness of existence".

  • Its pouring down here again .... this has cheered me right up, Laurie :-)

  • Beautiful Laurie !

The Queen Anne'sLace is in full bloom here also and although many folks consider it a weed, I don't. In fact some of my neighbors hate me cuz I let pesky weeds grow on my lot. Ain't no such thing as weeds I say. It's just that sometimes some of nature's beauty grows where humans don't want it to.

I much prefer my lot to my neighbor's chemically treated golf course-like lawn.

To each his own I say. Wonderful little escape ya' put together here my dear friend. Thank You. :-))

  • @profwaldo the only pesky plants here are star thistle, and a few goats head thorns....blackberry....hmm,,,poison oak,,,,,,my bro has the goats head---so sharp they puncture mower tires, etc. hard to rid, too....glad you had a little getaway, Wally!! :-)

    XOSLaurie

  • @cinderellalifestyle Ya' know... I stand corrected. I have some kinda' vine that has huge maple tree-like leaves that will not only crawl across the ground but goes up trees and shrubs. It sometimes kills the shrubs and smaller trees by blocking the sun or simply collapsing them from it's weight. Very hardy stuff too. I just gotta' admire weeds with strength and conviction. I've cut down 40 foot lengths and it would make a fine craft material for making wreaths or somethin'. Want some ?

  • I often see this flower (or one very similar) around where I live and never knew it's name, thank you. Great video Laurie, always a pleasure to listen to you playing wonderful music. Have a lovely week and keep up the good work ~ Ryan x

  • @mostlythemusic Thankyou Ryan! :-) I just learned Hemlock is somewhat similar...and deadly...

This is a edible, coming from Europe...I did not know, learn something everyday...the root is eaten...and before the plant blooms...now I have to go crush and sniff the plant--supposed to smell like a carrot......:-)

    Blessings to you my friend.

    XSOLaurie

  • @cinderellalifestyle ahh yeh, now I come to think of it we do call them field carrots over here. There is also a plant called a field parsnip which is similar however I believe that too is poisonous. Have fun harvesting hehe

  • Very nice! Peaceful music!

    XOS ,Guillaume

  • @Rouyome thankyou my friend:-)

    OXSL

  • great playing laurie this sounds amazing theres a nice feel to it love the video 2

  • @bedsitsongbird33 Thanks so much! Good to have beauty underfoot...trying times of the world sometimes demand a "getaway" ! :-)

    XOs, Laurie

  • Laurie, the music is perfect to your pictures. Good sound, too.

Best wishes from Germany, where the summer hopefully is coming back soon;-))

    Frank

  • @FrankRMusic It has been an odd summer, Frank,.....terrible heat for so many, so long...soon, a change for better, I hope!!:-)Thanks so much for listens....kind words!

    L, LL

  • Summer's pastoral beauty. Imagine that a ditch could be so beautiful, and usually we just rushes past on our way to the future without stopping, enjoy and soak up the scents and colors.

Beautiful photos of captured moments! Wonderful guitar playing!

    Much love - Viveca

  • @MrsCatification Thanks so much Viveca!:-)Many Blessings to you!
