The puppet also helped to make the dark twist feel more real. Just overall... this isn't the original, but... WOW that's darker.

The whole fat, not fat thing is just a stupid argument, but I do believe that you're right, technically Seymour is supposed to carry her over and put her in the plant, but, again, usually the plant is more of a floor based puppet (though this puppet rocks!!)

come on give her some credit, she was amazing. and have you ever thought maybe he couldn't carry her and place her in the plants mouth because the plant is very tall and has to pick up Audrey versus having her be set in its mouth?
That has got to be the single most badass plant I have ever seen. And the fact that it was specially constructed for the show (and by a high school student, no less!) and not rented from a professional company just makes it even more spectacular.

This is one of the most impressive plants EVER. We're doing this show in my school starting rehearsals in December (cast list comes out tomorrow- GAH) and I have no idea how our plant is gonna turn out.
The head is pine and polyurethane, with the calculus for the curves done in MS Excel. The pivot is an aircraft rod end, with 3-axis rotation and a 17,000 lb. load carrying capacity, which is important because there are two human operators embedded in the head in addition to the "victim." The ride down the 20 foot poop chute is quite a trip. In all, six human operators are required.
I would be scared if i had to be lifted that high by a fake plant
