@redghost I don't disagree. It is a light vehicle, and when run over by an SUV, surely not a safe as an SUV. Put it behind a 747, it'll flip indeed. (There's a Top gear on that too).
But it can't be compared to Reliant. Distribution of wheight is quite different.
And why Twike decided to put only one wheel in the front, you'd have to ask Twike. My best guess would be, 1) lower rolling resistance and 2) lower weight.
@redghost105 Actually it can't possibly flip over at 80 MPH, and the only reason for that is, is because the top speed is 55 :) Seriously now...: In the whole (15-Year-long) history of the Twike, with over 900 vehicles produced there isn't a single documented case of one actually flipping over. The design itself also cannot, by any standart be compared with the reliant. This vehicle is way, way lighter than any normal car on the road. (empty its about 600 pounds), And because the heaviest part
@redghost105 Very funny! Topgear always is. Seriously though, With a battery and motor lying low between the rear wheels, less weight high up and a more sturdy suspension, I think the Twike is probably more stable.
@DuurzaamNu im sure its much more stable...but i just imagin going highway speed around 80 mph and a truck tyre blows up in front of you and youre natural reaction is just to swerve out of the way as hard as possible, im sure this would flip at 80
why not have two wheels in front a one in back? the T-rex did it and its very stable
