That song was actually about Salt's ex Hurby luv bug and at this point she was tired of all his bs and cheatn and moved on wit the man she's still married to today, Gavin. When she became pregnant he thought the baby was his and that she would come runnin back, but he was salty when she didn't and they got married and he hadn't been heard from since! That guy actually looks alot like him and that was his verse he rapped!

yes, hurby's bullshit inspired half of the blacks magic album basically. That was when Salt first began writing and producing. He inspired, "Do You Want Me" "You Showed Me" "I don't Know" and especially "Independent". and the famous I wear the pants you wear the dress punk" line from from that song.
