  • Beautiful! I want to do these on my final cake, Wilton class II

  • Hey Edna, Long time no keep in touch. Thank you for this tutorial. I love it and I am actually following along right now with the video.. I m excited to see the outcome of my flowers. Thanks again!

  • @mommyssweetlife You welcome!

  • u should do a tutorial on how to make gumpaste daisies...and i was wondering exactly how do u make the glue ?

  • @BoricuaMamii621 Tylose powder dissolved in water or gumpaste dissolved in water.

  • 2 people dont know were the like button is...

  • @pinkluvz106 lol!

  • wow.. you're not only beautiful but all your video is pretty awesome! I keep track of all your videos with this simple method & clear direct in my mind/eyes..(,")! May God Bless You!

  • this is amazing.. ty so much for the instruction ♥

  • This was so thorough and well done! You even gave some good ideas for alternative tools. Thank you so much!

  • how thick is your wire?

  • @mariarich1 It can be a #22

  • can you do this with marshmellow fondant???

  • @piparotoy Is not of mu preference, and for a beginner it's more difficutl

  • @piparotoy You could, maybe, but i wouldn't recommend it. Gumpaste is easier to use when making flowers, than fondant.

  • These are so beautiful! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos, and explaining everything so well. Do you start off with yellow or white gumpaste for the flower? Thanks!

  • @DreaminFaerie Yes, a very light pale yellow

  • Your the best teacher ever!

  • Is their a way to make a calalily without useing a heart shape cutter?

  • @malviinu Yes, using a calla lily cutter. Or you can cut it with an exacto knife.

  • Those are beautiful and they look fantastic!!!

  • Really? Alright. I have so many questions in general about being a pastry chef/ cake designer! You're so inspirational! Now, for the cookie, do you mean play with it as in shape it on the cookie itself? I wanna incorporate " Calla Lilies" into my cookie piece.

  • Depends on what you are trying to achieve. You can do it on top of the cookie.

  • @tonedna1

Can I use fondant instead of gumpaste? Because im makinf a cake for mother's day and when the flower dries its going to taste bland and hard....

  • @michelle13579123 I dont really like to use fondant for making flowers. You can maybe add tylose to the fondant to if you still want to use it, but I dont even eat the flowers.

    Edna :)

  • Brilliance! Nice work! I'm competing in a cookie competition and I was wondering, would I need this to be dried? Or could I make this in 15-20 minutes no problem?

  • It needs to be let dry, but you might be able to play with it on a cookie. Play with it.

    Edna :)

  • Hi Edna.

I love the technique. You made it look so easy! But I do have a question. I checked your website and you do sale the cutters for the calla lily, so inst that easier, than going thru all of this?:O) Which one do you recommend best?

  • The technique is for those who dont have the cutters and want to learn the flower.

Obviously the cutter makes a gorgeous flower. But once you learn to make the simple ones is easier to move to the more complicated ones. Now remember this goes all around the world and not everyone gets the chance to have the right cutters.

    Edna :)

  • Gracias!

    Edna :)

  • love to watch

  • I don't know much about baking or making things out of gum paste but I was wondering, is gum paste is edible?

  • yes is edible

    Edna :)

  • Stunning

  • Thank you, Edna for this tutorial. You are a very good teacher. Your work is beautiful!!

  • Thank you for making this so easy:)

    Katie

  • Edna, do you make your own gumpaste? if not which gumpaste do you use?

  • Is in my website under the recipe link!

    Edna :)

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial, Edna. You are a very good teacher. I have tried making flowers with gumpaste before but they dried so fast since our weather is very humid. I will be making calla lilies next week and will try a combination of fondant and gumpaste. This is what I use for my figurines. I will let you know how it turns out. God bless you and more power :oD

  • If you are new at this and don't work very fast can you use fondant?

  • Working flowers with fondant is more difficult..Wich gumpaste are you using?

    Edna :)

  • I haven't used gumpaste yet I'm just starting but I have heard that it's hard to work with because it dries faster so I was just wondering if it would be easier to use fondant?

  • by the way I love you cakes they are beautiful!!!

  • Thanks!..That means a lot!

    Edna :)

  • Great tutorial, Edna:)

  • what is the purpose of hanging the calla lilly upside down?? if i dry it right side up on a piece of foam placed on a rack would that be okay too? I notice a lot of flowers are hung upseide down when ready to dry-just wanted to know if it makes a difference?

  • laying it down will change the shape, of it,wich is something you can do for certain designs. But hanging it will make the base stick and get glued bettter without loosing your shape.

    Edna :)

  • thank you for teaching us. You are great teacher. Because you explain slowly and clear. I'm glad I found this in you tube. but now I have your web site. Tank you so much.

  • Can you actually eat it when it turns really hard?

  • You could but it really doesnt have much flavor.

    Edna :)

  • is there anyway to add flavor?? with sugar or brown suger?? something??? id want to eat them :P

  • Yeah, add a drop of loran oils.

    Edna :)

  • " Amazing the calla lilly looks beautiful"

  • Thanks for teaching this way! very realistic. here is a tip i learnt: mix sugar with a little yellow color in a small plastic bag. then paint glue to the middle and roll it in the sugar mixture for consistent texture.

  • Thanks...you can use cornmeal too and not have to paint it. Or even use sugar crystals from wilton, they have yellow!

    Edna :)

  • Where did you get the veiner? I've looked online and couldn't find it. thanks.

  • global sugar art has them

  • great, thanks for sharing. Great tip on how to use cutter to get soft edges. :)

  • Great and Talented thank you for your fast response

  • i like the cup idea too.thank you very much for sharing.

  • I like this tecnique. I never used this. I like the pointed cup idea. I took the wilton classes and when we did this we did not use this cup. Good Idea.
