I went to Bullard TALENT elementary school of the arts. We sang this in choir in the 5th grade..that was 8 years ago and I'm still listening to this song <3 Thank God for Schools of the arts!
I find Lucia Popp's rendition of this too slow and Kathleen Battle's too fast - I think this tempo is just right.
Unfortunately I'm not convinced by the soprano - particularly when she comes in with the held F after the choir section, this is one of the most strikingly beautiful moments in any piece of music that I know and she is just slightly sharp :(
@crazysingerr99 hope it went well, i think the most difficult thing with this peice is the breath control. i dont know if we are performing the same arrangement as you (john Phillips) but it's quite annoying not singing for 4 pages and then coming straing in on an F but maybe i'm just being fussy!
Mozart's music and other classical composers music will live for ever. Well sung a pleasesure to listen to.

A profoundly beautiful song, clearly sung and with the benefit of the latin text being translated; thank you for posting such a spiritual montage.

Beautiful sacred song but the singer didn't sound sufficiently reverent
