Yeah, he had a few (lost) title shots before his big injury after winning KotR. In-between he held the Intercontinental and US Titles, beat Kurt Angle in a hair-vs-hair match and won the tag titles with Hulk Hogan.

The injury set Edge back, he came back in the upper midcard with the occasional main event. They gave him the Money in the Bank and his affair with Lita came out, which really got him over huge as a heel and the rest is history.
