I would add...: to start carb-engine (Solex, Weber or Dell'orto) it would help a lot, after giving 3-4 strokes with the acc-pedal, to keep the pedal 1/3 in. My carb-Alfas starts at once with this methode.
My Alfa is from 1984, so i do it in this way: 1 attempt) not important the gear, Key in to the switch, push in clutch, then key to start 2 attempt)same but with the air lever pulled
3 attempt) like first and the engine start. I do it 1 time a week cause i use my Alfa only 1 time in a week in working periods
you think I don't know that, I restored this car from the ground up in 2002. Plus this it just a edited section from another video, it had been sitting about 3-4 months.

How come you have to push the clutch in when starting?
RossPK81 3 years ago
I guess less turning mass on the starter, newer cars have made it so that you HAVE to push in the clutch or nothing works.
I do it mostly because when I put it in reverse, that gear crunches.
Also if you forget to take it out of gear, the car doesn't try to lurch forward. Just that much more time to realize the cars still in gear ;)

I didn't know people needed a tutorial to put it in neutral, pump pedal turn key to on and turn the car, real brain science here.

Cool, but I like the added mental insurance policy of taking the car out of gear. What Kind of Alfa do you have? Do you have any videos of it?
