Best version was just like this, but instead of Greg Gamer and his bipe, it had more shots from around town, including my old girlfriend in red shorts throwing a frisbee in Sim park. Would love to see that one. To those who made the idiotic comment, just stow it. It was a great commercial, an uplifting song, and a great place to live back then.
lived in Wichita years ago...good times. Kirby's, The Lift, midnight movies at the Pawnee Cinema, when the Circle Cinema burned, Gringo Charlies, Longneckers, Chi Chis, The Bombay Bicycle Club, cruising Douglas, Towne East, throwing out beer bottles driving thru Eastborough....good times!!
I was wondering how they were going to fit what I knew as "Minnesota" into Wichita. Really doesn't work as well as "Hello Utah.." or the other variants..
Do you know which station in Minnesota carried the hello news theme? I remember it and I think it was either KARE 11 or KSTP. Been trying to to remember.
I've always loved this video. I've hummed the tune and sang it to myself for years. A lot of the best times in my youth were in Wichita. I just wish there was a better copy floating around.
Not if your looking for a version featuring Wichita...

It was WTCN (now KARE 11). Lots of pictures of loons as far as I remember, in fact the first sound of the spot was of a loon, I think...
